Abdullah b. 'Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) drew aside the curtain and his head was bandaged on account of illness in which he died. He said: O Allah, have I not delivered (Thy Message)? (He repeated it) three times. Nothing has been left out of the glad tidings of apostlebood, but good vision. which a pious servant (of Allah) sees or someone else is made to see for him. He then narrated like the hadith transmitted by Sufyan.

قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سُحَيْمٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَشَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ السِّتْرَ وَرَأْسُهُ مَعْصُوبٌ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ، فَقَالَ: «اللهُمَّ هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ مُبَشِّرَاتِ النُّبُوَّةِ إِلَّا الرُّؤْيَا يَرَاهَا الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ أَوْ تُرَى لَهُ» ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانُ

۔ اسماعیل بن جعفر نے سلیمان سے باقی ماندہ سابقہ سند سے حضرت عبد اللہ بن عباس ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہﷺ نے پردہ اٹھایا ، اس مرض کے عالم میں جس میں آپ کا انتقال ہوا ، آپ کا سر پٹی سے بندھا ہوا تھا ، آپ نے فرمایا : ’’اے اللہ! کیا میں نے پیغام پہنچا دیا؟ ‘ ‘ تین بار ( یہ الفاظ کہے ، پھر فرمایا : ) ’’نبوت کی بشارتوں میں سے اب صرف سچے خواب باقی رہ گئے ہیں جو کوئی نیک انسان خود دیکھے گا یا اس کے لیے ( دوسرے کو ) دکھائے جائیں گے ... ‘ ‘ اس کے بعد اسماعیل نے سفیان کی حدیث کی طرح بیان کیا ۔

This hadith has been narrated by some other narrators, Ibn 'Abbas and others, and they all reported that 'Ali said: The Apostle of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) forbade me to recite the Qur'an while I am in a state of bowing and prostration, and in their narration (there is a mention of) forbiddance from that (recital) in the state of prostration as it has been transmitted by Zuhri, Zaid b. Aslam, al-Wahid b. Kathir, and Dawud b. Qais.
