Ali b. Abi Talib reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) forbade me from the recitation (of the Qur'an) in bowing and prostration and I do not say that he forbade you.

وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ» وَلَا أَقُولُ نَهَاكُمْ

زید بن اسلم نے ابراہیم بن عبد اللہ بن حنین سے ، انہوں نے اپنے والد سے اور انہوں نے حضرت علی بن ابی طالب ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا : مجھے رسول اللہﷺ نے رکوع اور سجدے میں ( قرآن کی ) قراءت کرنے سے منع کیا ۔ میں ( یہ ) نہیں کہتا : تمہیں منع کیا ۔ ( حضرت علی نے اپنے حوالےا سے جو سنا وہی بتایا ۔ پچھلی احادیث سے واضح ہوتا ہے کہ حکم سب کے لیے ہے ۔ )

Ali reported: My loved one (the Holy Prophet) forbade me that I should recite (the Qur'an) in a state of bowing and prostration.

This hadith has been narrated by some other narrators, Ibn 'Abbas and others, and they all reported that 'Ali said: The Apostle of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) forbade me to recite the Qur'an while I am in a state of bowing and prostration, and in their narration (there is a mention of) forbiddance from that (recital) in the state of prostration as it has been transmitted by Zuhri, Zaid b. Aslam, al-Wahid b. Kathir, and Dawud b. Qais.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating himself, so make supplication (in this state).

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to say while prostrating himself: O Lord, forgive me all my sins, small and great, first and last, open and secret.
