Aishah narrated: The Prophet would accept gifts and he would give something in return.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَكْثَمَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يَقْبَلُ الْهَدِيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُثِيبُ عَلَيْهَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مَرْفُوعًا إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عِيسَى بْنِ يُونُسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامٍ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہدیہ قبول کرتے تھے اور اس کا بدلہ دیتے تھے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث اس سند سے حسن غریب صحیح ہے، ۲- ہم اسے صرف عیسیٰ بن یونس کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں، جسے وہ ہشام سے روایت کرتے ہیں، ۳- اس باب میں ابوہریرہ، انس، ابن عمر اور جابر رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : Whoever is not grateful to the people, he is not grateful to Allah.

Abu Dharr narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : Your smiling in the face of your brother is charity, commanding good and forbidding evil is charity, your giving directions to a man lost in the land is charity for you. Your seeing for a man with bad sight is a charity for you, your removal of a rock, a thorn or a bone from the road is charity for you. Your pouring what remains from your bucket into the bucket of your brother is charity for you.

Al-Bara bin Azib narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : Whoever gives someone some milk or silver, or guides him through a strait, then he will have the reward similar to freeing a slave.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : When a man was walking on the road, he found a thorny branch and removed it. Allah appreciated his action by forgiving him.
