Translation

Arabic, english and urdu

Abu Dharr narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : Your smiling in the face of your brother is charity, commanding good and forbidding evil is charity, your giving directions to a man lost in the land is charity for you. Your seeing for a man with bad sight is a charity for you, your removal of a rock, a thorn or a bone from the road is charity for you. Your pouring what remains from your bucket into the bucket of your brother is charity for you.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجُرَشِيُّ الْيَمَامِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ تَبَسُّمُكَ فِي وَجْهِ أَخِيكَ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمْرُكَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهْيُكَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ صَدَقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِرْشَادُكَ الرَّجُلَ فِي أَرْضِ الضَّلَالِ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبَصَرُكَ لِلرَّجُلِ الرَّدِيءِ الْبَصَرِ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِمَاطَتُكَ الْحَجَرَ وَالشَّوْكَةَ وَالْعَظْمَ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِفْرَاغُكَ مِنْ دَلْوِكَ فِي دَلْوِ أَخِيكَ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحُذَيْفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو زُمَيْلٍ اسْمُهُ سِمَاكُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْحَنَفِيُّ.

ابوذر رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اپنے بھائی کے سامنے تمہارا مسکرانا تمہارے لیے صدقہ ہے، تمہارا بھلائی کا حکم دینا اور برائی سے روکنا صدقہ ہے، بھٹک جانے والی جگہ میں کسی آدمی کو تمہارا راستہ دکھانا تمہارے لیے صدقہ ہے، نابینا اور کم دیکھنے والے آدمی کو راستہ دکھانا تمہارے لیے صدقہ ہے، پتھر، کانٹا اور ہڈی کو راستے سے ہٹانا تمہارے لیے صدقہ ہے، اپنے ڈول سے اپنے بھائی کے ڈول میں تمہارا پانی ڈالنا تمہارے لیے صدقہ ہے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابن مسعود، جابر، حذیفہ، عائشہ اور ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہم سے احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Al-Bara bin Azib narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : Whoever gives someone some milk or silver, or guides him through a strait, then he will have the reward similar to freeing a slave.

Asma bint Abi Bakr said: O the Messenger of Allah! I have nothing except what was given to me by (my husband) Az-Zubair, shall I give it (in charity)?' It was said: Do not hold (your wealth) so that Allah will hold against you.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet said: Generosity is close to Allah, close to Paradise, close to the people and far from the Fire. Stinginess is far from Allah, far from Paradise, far from the people and close to the Fire. The ignorant generous person, is more beloved to Allah than the worshiping stingy person.
