Arabic, english and urdu

Asma bint Abi Bakr said: O the Messenger of Allah! I have nothing except what was given to me by (my husband) Az-Zubair, shall I give it (in charity)?' It was said: Do not hold (your wealth) so that Allah will hold against you.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ وَرْدَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي مِنْ بَيْتِي إِلَّا مَا أَدْخَلَ عَلَيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَفَأُعْطِي ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا تُوكِي فَيُوكَى عَلَيْكِ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تُحْصِي فَيُحْصَى عَلَيْكِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَيُّوبَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرُوا فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ.

اسماء بنت ابوبکر رضی الله عنہما کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میرے گھر میں صرف زبیر کی کمائی ہے، کیا میں اس میں سے صدقہ و خیرات کروں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں، صدقہ کرو اور گرہ مت لگاؤ ورنہ تمہارے اوپر گرہ لگا دی جائے گی“ ۱؎۔ «لا توكي فيوكى عليك» کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ شمار کر کے صدقہ نہ کرو ورنہ اللہ تعالیٰ بھی شمار کرے گا اور برکت ختم کر دے گا ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- بعض راویوں نے اس حدیث کو «عن ابن أبي مليكة عن عباد بن عبد الله بن الزبير عن أسماء بنت أبي بكر رضي الله عنهما» کی سند سے روایت کی ہے ۳؎، کئی لوگوں نے اس حدیث کی روایت ایوب سے کی ہے اور اس میں عباد بن عبیداللہ بن زبیر کا ذکر نہیں کیا، ۳- اس باب میں عائشہ اور ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہما سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet said: Generosity is close to Allah, close to Paradise, close to the people and far from the Fire. Stinginess is far from Allah, far from Paradise, far from the people and close to the Fire. The ignorant generous person, is more beloved to Allah than the worshiping stingy person.

Thawban narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: The most virtuous of the Dinar is the Dinar spent by a man on his dependants, and the Dinar spent by a man on his beast in the Cause of Allah, and the Dinar spent by a man on his companions in the Cause of Allah. Abu Qilabah (one of the narrators) said: He began with the dependants. Then he said: And which man is greater in reward than a man who spends upon his depandants, having little ones by which Allah causes him to abstain (from the unlawful) and by which Allah enriches him.
