Translation

Jabir bin Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : When a man narrates a narration, then he looks around, then it is a trust.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا حَدَّثَ الرَّجُلُ الْحَدِيثَ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ فَهِيَ أَمَانَةٌ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ.

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب کوئی آدمی تم سے کوئی بات بیان کرے پھر ( اسے راز میں رکھنے کے لیے ) دائیں بائیں مڑ کر دیکھے تو وہ بات تمہارے پاس امانت ہے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- ہم اسے صرف ابن ابی ذئب کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں۔

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet said: Generosity is close to Allah, close to Paradise, close to the people and far from the Fire. Stinginess is far from Allah, far from Paradise, far from the people and close to the Fire. The ignorant generous person, is more beloved to Allah than the worshiping stingy person.
