Translation

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : When one of you beats his servant then he (should) remember Allah and, withhold your hands.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هَارُونَ الْعَبْدِيِّ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا ضَرَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ خَادِمَهُ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ فَارْفَعُوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَأَبُو هَارُونَ الْعَبْدِيُّ اسْمُهُ عُمَارَةُ بْنُ جُوَيْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْعَطَّارُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ لعَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ:‏‏‏‏ ضَعَّفَ شُعْبَةُ أَبَا هَارُونَ الْعَبْدِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ يَحْيَى:‏‏‏‏ وَمَا زَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ يَرْوِي عَنْ أَبِي هَارُونَ حَتَّى مَاتَ.

ابو سعید خدری رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تم میں سے کوئی اپنے خادم کو مارے اور وہ ( خادم ) اللہ کا نام لے لے تو تم اپنے ہاتھوں کو روک لو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: راوی ابوہارون عبدی کا نام عمارہ بن جوین ہے، ابوبکر عطار نے یحییٰ بن سعید کا یہ قول نقل کیا کہ شعبہ نے ابوہارون عبدی کی تضعیف کی ہے، یحییٰ کہتے ہیں: ابن عون ہمیشہ ابوہارون سے روایت کرتے رہے یہاں تک کہ ان کی وفات ہو گئی۔

Jabir bin Sumurah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : That a man should discipline his son is better for him than to have given a Sa' in charity.

Ayyub bin Musa narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah said : There is no gift that a father gives his son more virtuous than good manners.

Abu Dharr narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : Your smiling in the face of your brother is charity, commanding good and forbidding evil is charity, your giving directions to a man lost in the land is charity for you. Your seeing for a man with bad sight is a charity for you, your removal of a rock, a thorn or a bone from the road is charity for you. Your pouring what remains from your bucket into the bucket of your brother is charity for you.
