It was narrated that 'Ubadah bin As-Samit said: The messenger of Allah said: 'Gold for gold, of equal measure; silver for silver, of equal measure; salt for salt, dates for dates wheat for wheat, barley for barley, like for like. Whoever gives more or takes more has engaged in Riba. ' (Sahih) The wording is that of Muhammad Yaqub did not mention - Wheat for wheat .

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى،‏‏‏‏ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْمَكِّيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ تِبْرُهُ وَعَيْنُهُ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْفِضَّةُ بِالْفِضَّةِ تِبْرُهُ وَعَيْنُهُ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْمِلْحُ بِالْمِلْحِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالتَّمْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْبُرُّ بِالْبُرِّ،‏‏‏‏ وَالشَّعِيرُ بِالشَّعِيرِ سَوَاءً بِسَوَاءٍ،‏‏‏‏ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ،‏‏‏‏ فَمَنْ زَادَ أَوِ ازْدَادَ فَقَدْ أَرْبَى ،‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُحَمَّدٍ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ ابْنُ يَعْقُوبَ،‏‏‏‏ وَالشَّعِيرُ بِالشَّعِيرِ.

عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”سونا سونے کے بدلے، ڈلا ہو یا سکہ، برابر برابر ہو، چاندی چاندی کے بدلے ڈالا ہو یا سکہ، برابر برابر ہو، نمک نمک کے بدلے، کھجور کھجور کے بدلے، گیہوں گیہوں کے بدلے اور جَو جَو کے بدلے برابر برابر اور یکساں ہو، لہٰذا جو زیادہ دے یا زیادہ کا مطالبہ کرے تو اس نے سود لیا“۔ یہ الفاظ محمد بن المثنیٰ کے ہیں، ابراہیم بن یعقوب نے ”جَو جَو کے بدلے“ کا ذکر نہیں کیا۔

It was narrated from Sulaiman bin Ali: Abu Al-Mutawakkil passed by them in the market and some people, including me, stood up to greet him. He said: 'I heard a man say to Abu Saeed Al-Khudri': 'Is there anyone between you and the Messenger of Allah (in the chain of narrators) apart from Abu Saeed Al-Khudri? Whoever gives more than that or takes more has engaged in Riba, and the taker and the giver are the same. '
