Abdur-Rahman bin Abdullah quoted his father as saying: When we were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and he had gone to releive himself, we saw a Hummarah with two young ones. We took the young ones. The Hummarah came and began to spread out its wings. Then the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came and said: who has pained this young by the loss of her young? Give her young ones back to her. We also saw an ant-hill which we had burned. He asked? Who has burned this? We replied: we have. He said: it is not fitting that anyone but the lord of the fire should punish with fire.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ مَحْبُوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى،‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق الْفَزَارِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق الشَّيْبَانِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ سَعْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أبو داود:‏‏‏‏ وَهُوَ الْحَسَنُ بن سعد،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ،‏‏‏‏ فَانْطَلَقَ لِحَاجَتِهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَرَأَيْنَا حُمَّرَةً مَعَهَا فَرْخَانِ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَخَذْنَا فَرْخَيْهَا،‏‏‏‏ فَجَاءَتِ الْحُمَرَةُ،‏‏‏‏ فَجَعَلَتْ تُفَرِّشُ،‏‏‏‏ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ فَجَعَ هَذِهِ بِوَلَدِهَا ؟ رُدُّوا وَلَدَهَا إِلَيْهَا،‏‏‏‏ وَرَأَى قَرْيَةَ نَمْلٍ قَدْ حَرَّقْنَاهَا،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ حَرَّقَ هَذِهِ ؟،‏‏‏‏ قُلْنَا:‏‏‏‏ نَحْنُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُعَذِّبَ بِالنَّارِ إِلَّا رَبُّ النَّارِ .

عبداللہ (عبداللہ بن مسعود) رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک سفر میں تھے آپ اپنی حاجت کے لیے تشریف لے گئے، ہم نے ایک چھوٹی چڑیا دیکھی اس کے دو بچے تھے، ہم نے اس کے دونوں بچے پکڑ لیے، تو وہ چڑیا آئی اور ( انہیں حاصل کرنے کے لیے ) تڑپنے لگی، اتنے میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لے آئے اور آپ نے فرمایا: کس نے اس کے بچے لے کر اسے تکلیف پہنچائی ہے، اس کے بچے اسے واپس لوٹا دو ، آپ نے چیونٹیوں کی ایک بستی دیکھی جسے ہم نے جلا ڈالا تھا، آپ نے پوچھا: کس نے جلایا ہے؟ ہم نے کہا: ہم نے، آپ نے فرمایا: آگ کے پیدا کرنے والے کے سوا کسی کے لیے آگ کی سزا دینا مناسب نہیں ہے ۔

Narrated Abdur Rahman ibn Uthman: When a physician consulted the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم about putting frogs in medicine, he forbade him to kill them.

Abd bin Mughaffal said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم prohibited throwing pebbles (in sport) saying: game is not caught by such means. Neither is an enemy injured, but it may sometimes put out an eye or break a tooth.

Narrated Umm Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah: A woman used to perform circumcision in Madina. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to her: Do not cut severely as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband. Abu Dawud said: It has been transmitted by Ubaid Allah bin Amr from Abd al-Malik to the same effect through a different chain. Abu Dawud said: It is not a strong tradition. It has been transmitted in mursal form (missing the link of the Companions) Abu Dawud said: Muhammad bin Hasan is obscure, and this tradition is weak.

Narrated Abu Usayd al-Ansari: Abu Usayd heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say when he was coming out of the mosque, and men and women were mingled in the road: Draw back, for you must not walk in the middle of the road; keep to the sides of the road. Then women were keeping so close to the wall that their garments were rubbing against it.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم prohibited that one, i. e. man, should walk between two women.
