Abu Hurairah reported the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Allah most high says: “The son of Adam injures me by abusing time, whereas I am time. Authority is in my hand. I alternate the night and the day”. Ibn al-Sarh said: “on the authority of Ibn al-Musayyab instead of Saeed .
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح بن سفيان،‏‏‏‏ وابن السرح،‏‏‏‏ قالا:‏‏‏‏ أخبرنا سفيان،‏‏‏‏ عن الزهري،‏‏‏‏ عن سعيد عن أبى هريرة،‏‏‏‏ عن النبي صلي الله عليه وسلم:‏‏‏‏ يقول الله عز وجل:‏‏‏‏ يؤذيني ابن آدم،‏‏‏‏ يسب الدهر،‏‏‏‏ وأنا الدهر بيدي الأمر،‏‏‏‏ أقلب الليل والنهار ،‏‏‏‏ قال ابن السرح،‏‏‏‏ عن ابن المسيب مكان سعيد.
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ عزوجل فرماتا ہے: ابن آدم ( انسان ) مجھے تکلیف پہنچاتا ہے، وہ زمانے کو گالی دیتا ہے حالانکہ زمانہ میں ہی ہوں، تمام امور میرے ہاتھ میں ہیں، میں ہی رات اور دن کو الٹتا پلٹتا ہوں ۔
