Anas bin Malik reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: If anyone pretends to be the son of a man other than his father, or attributes his freedom to people other than those who set him free, on him will be the curse of Allah that will continue till the day of resurrection.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَنَحْنُ بِبَيْرُوتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَنِ ادَّعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ أَوِ انْتَمَى إِلَى غَيْرِ مَوَالِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ الْمُتَتَابِعَةُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ .

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: جو شخص اپنے کو اپنے والد کے سوا کسی اور کا بیٹا بتائے یا اپنے مولیٰ ( آقا ) کے بجائے کسی اور کو اپنا آقا بنائے تو اس پر پیہم قیامت تک اللہ کی لعنت ہے۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Allah, Most High, has removed from you the pride of the pre-Islamic period and its boasting in ancestors. One is only a pious believer or a miserable sinner. You are sons of Adam, and Adam came from dust. Let the people cease to boast about their ancestors. They are merely fuel in Jahannam; or they will certainly be of less account with Allah than the beetle which rolls dung with its nose.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: If anyone helps his people in an unrighteous cause, he is like a camel which falls into a well and is pulled out by its tail.

Abdullah bin Masud said: I went to the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم when he was in a skin tent. He then mentioned something similar to it.

Narrated Wathilah ibn al-Asqa: I asked: Messenger of Allah! what is party spirit? He replied: That you should help your people in wrongdoing.

Narrated Suraqah ibn Malik ibn Jusham al-Mudlaji: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم gave us an address and said: The best of you is the one who defends his tribe, so long as he commits no sin. Abu Dawud said: Abu Ayyub bin Suwaid is weak.

Jubair bin Mutim reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: he who summons others to party-spirit does not belong to us; and he who dies upholding party spirit does not belong to us. ’
