Narrated Suraqah ibn Malik ibn Jusham al-Mudlaji: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم gave us an address and said: The best of you is the one who defends his tribe, so long as he commits no sin. Abu Dawud said: Abu Ayyub bin Suwaid is weak.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ الْمُدْلِجِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَيْرُكُمُ الْمُدَافِعُ عَنْ عَشِيرَتِهِ مَا لَمْ يَأْثَمْ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ:‏‏‏‏ أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ ضَعِيفٌ.

سراقہ بن مالک بن جعشم مدلجی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں خطاب فرمایا تو کہا: تم میں بہتر وہ شخص ہے، جو اپنے خاندان کا دفاع کرے، جب تک کہ وہ ( اس دفاع سے ) کسی گناہ کا ارتکاب نہ کر رہا ہو ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: ایوب بن سوید ضعیف ہیں۔

Jubair bin Mutim reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: he who summons others to party-spirit does not belong to us; and he who dies upholding party spirit does not belong to us. ’

Narrated Abu Uqbah: Abdur Rahman ibn Abu Uqbah quoted his father Abu Uqbah who was a client from the people of Persia as saying: I was present at Uhud along with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and on smiting one of the polytheists I said: Take this from me who is the young Persian. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم then turned to me and said: Why did you not say: Take this from me who is the young Ansari?

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: A man was with the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and a man passed by him and said: Messenger of Allah! I love this man. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم then asked: Have you informed him? He replied: No. He said: Inform him. He then went to him and said: I love you for Allah's sake. He replied: May He for Whose sake you love me love you!

Abdullah bin al-samit told that Abu Dharr said: Messenger of Allah! A man loves some people, but he cannot do work like their work. He replied; Yes, Abu Dharr, will be with those whom you love. Abu Dharr then repeated it. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم also repeated it.
