Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم would sleep while he was sexually defiled without touching water. Abu Dawud said: Hasan bin Ali al-Wasiti said that the heard Yazid bin Harun say: This tradition is based on a misunderstanding, i. e. the tradition reported by Abu Ishaq.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنَامُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ هَارُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ وَهْمٌ يَعْنِي حَدِيثَ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جنابت کی حالت میں بغیر غسل فرمائے سو جاتے تھے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: ہم سے حسن بن علی واسطی نے بیان کیا، وہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے یزید بن ہارون کو کہتے سنا کہ یہ حدیث یعنی ابواسحاق کی حدیث وہم ہے ۱؎۔

Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: Abdullah ibn Salamah said: I, accompanied by other two persons, one from us and the other from Banu Asad, called upon Ali. He sent them to a certain territory (on some mission) saying: You are sturdy and vigorous people; hence display your power for religion. He then stood and entered the toilet. He then came out and called for water and took a handful of it. Then he wiped (his hands) with it and began to recite the Quran. They were surprised at this (action). Thereupon he said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came out from the privy and taught us the Quran and took meat with us. Nothing prevented him; or the narrator said: Nothing prevented him from (reciting) the Quran except sexual defilement.

Abu Hudhaifah reported: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم met me on one of the streets of Madina while I was sexually defiled. I retreated and went away. I then took a bath and came to him. He asked: Where were you, O Abu Hurairah? I replied: As I was sexually defiled, I disliked to sit in your company without purification. He exclaimed: Glory be to Allah! A Muslim is not defiled. He (Abu Dawud) said: The version of this tradition reported by Bishr has the chain: Humaid reported from Bakr.

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came and saw that the doors of the houses of his Companions were facing the mosque. He said: Turn the direction of the houses from the mosque. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم then entered (the houses or the mosque), and the people did take any step in this regard hoping that some concession might be revealed. He the Prophet) again came upon them and said: Turn the direction of these (doors) from the mosque I do not make the mosque lawful for a menstruating woman and for a person who is sexually defiled. Abu Dawud said: Aflat bin Khalifah is also called Fulait al-Amiri.

This tradition has been reported by Hammad bin Salamah through the same chain of narrators and conveying a similar meaning. This version adds in the beginning: He uttered TAKBIR (Allahu akbar), and in the end: when he finished the prayer, he said: I am a human being; I was sexually defiled. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated al-Zuhri from Abu Salamah bin Abdur-Rahman on the authority of Abu Hurairah. It says: When he stood at the place of prayer, we waited for his utterance of takbir (Allah-u akbar). He went away and said: (remain) as you were. Another version on the authority of Muhammad reporting from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم says: He uttered takbir (Allah-u-Akbar) and then made a sign to the people, meaning sit down . He then went away and took a bath. This tradition has also been narrated through a different chain. It says: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم uttered takbir (Allah-u-akbar) in a prayer. Abu Dawud said: Another version through a different chain says; The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم uttered takbir (Allah-u akbar).
