Narrated Abu `Uthman: I got the news that Gabriel came to the Prophet while Um Salama was present. Gabriel started talking (to the Prophet and then left. The Prophet said to Um Salama, (Do you know) who it was? (or a similar question). She said, It was Dihya (a handsome person amongst the companions of the Prophet ). Later on Um Salama said, By Allah! I thought he was none but Dihya, till I heard the Prophet talking about Gabriel in his sermon. (The Sub-narrator asked Abu `Uthman, From where have you heard this narration? He replied, From Usama bin Zaid. )

حَدَّثَنِي عَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : أُنْبِئْتُ أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ فَجَعَلَ يُحَدِّثُ ثُمَّ قَامَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ مَنْ هَذَا أَوْ كَمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ : قَالَتْ هَذَا دِحْيَةُ ، قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ : ايْمُ اللَّهِ مَا حَسِبْتُهُ إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ خُطْبَةَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخْبِرُ جِبْرِيلَ أَوْ كَمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي عُثْمَانَ : مِمَّنْ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا ، قَالَ : مِنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ .

ہم سے عباس بن ولید نرسی نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے معتمر بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا کہا کہ میں نے اپنے والد سے سنا، ان سے ابوعثمان نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے یہ بات معلوم کرائی گئی کہ جبرائیل علیہ السلام ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے اور آپ سے باتیں کرتے رہے۔ اس وقت آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا بیٹھی ہوئی تھیں۔ جب جبرائیل علیہ السلام چلے گئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ام سلمہ سے فرمایا: معلوم ہے یہ کون صاحب تھے؟ یا ایسے ہی الفاظ ارشاد فرمائے۔ ابوعثمان نے بیان کیا کہ ام سلمہ نے جواب دیا کہ یہ دحیہ کلبی رضی اللہ عنہ تھے۔ ام سلمہ نے بیان کیا اللہ کی قسم میں سمجھے بیٹھی تھی کہ وہ دحیہ کلبی رضی اللہ عنہ ہیں۔ آخر جب میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا خطبہ سنا جس میں آپ جبرائیل علیہ السلام ( کی آمد ) کی خبر دے رہے تھے تو میں سمجھی کہ وہ جبرائیل علیہ السلام ہی تھے۔ یا ایسے ہی الفاظ کہے۔ بیان کیا کہ میں نے ابوعثمان سے پوچھا کہ آپ نے یہ حدیث کس سے سنی؟ تو انہوں نے بتایا کہ اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنی ہے۔

Narrated `Abdullah: Allah's Apostle said, I saw (in a dream) the people assembled in a gathering, and then Abu Bakr got up and drew one or two buckets of water (from a well) but there was weakness in his drawing. May Allah forgive him. Then `Umar took the bucket and in his hands it turned into a very large bucket. I had never seen anyone amongst: the people who could draw the water as strongly as `Umar till all the people drank their fill and watered their camels that knelt down there.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: The Jews came to Allah's Apostle and told him that a man and a woman from amongst them had committed illegal sexual intercourse. Allah's Apostle said to them, What do you find in the Torah (old Testament) about the legal punishment of Ar-Rajm (stoning)? They replied, (But) we announce their crime and lash them. `Abdullah bin Salam said, You are telling a lie; Torah contains the order of Rajm. They brought and opened the Torah and one of them solaced his hand on the Verse of Rajm and read the verses preceding and following it. `Abdullah bin Salam said to him, Lift your hand. When he lifted his hand, the Verse of Rajm was written there. They said, Muhammad has told the truth; the Torah has the Verse of Rajm. The Prophet then gave the order that both of them should be stoned to death. (`Abdullah bin `Umar said, I saw the man leaning over the woman to shelter her from the stones.

Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: During the lifetime of the Prophet the moon was split into two parts and on that the Prophet said, Bear witness (to thus).

Narrated Anas: That the Meccan people requested Allah's Apostle to show them a miracle, and so he showed them the splitting of the moon.

Narrated Anas: Once two men from the companions of Allah's Apostle went out of the house of the Prophet on a very dark night. They were accompanied by two things that resembled two lamps lighting the way in front of them, and when they parted, each of them was accompanied by one of those two things (lamps) till they reached their homes.
