Translation

Arabic, English and Urdu

Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated: Allah's Messenger would say the Takbir for every lowering and raising, standing and sitting, and (so did) Abu Bakr and Umar.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، وَالْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكَبِّرُ فِي كُلِّ خَفْضٍ وَرَفْعٍ وَقِيَامٍ وَقُعُودٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُمَرُ. قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وأَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبِي مُوسَى،‏‏‏‏ وَعِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ،‏‏‏‏ ووَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مِنْهُمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعُمَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُثْمَانُ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَلِيٌّ وَغَيْرُهُمْ وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ وَعَلَيْهِ عَامَّةُ الْفُقَهَاءِ وَالْعُلَمَاءِ.

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہر جھکنے، اٹھنے، کھڑے ہونے اور بیٹھنے کے وقت اللہ اکبر کہتے ۱؎ اور ابوبکر اور عمر رضی الله عنہما بھی۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابوہریرہ، انس، ابن عمر، ابو مالک اشعری، ابوموسیٰ، عمران بن حصین، وائل بن حجر اور ابن عباس رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- صحابہ کرام کا جن میں ابوبکر، عمر، عثمان علی رضی الله عنہم وغیرہ شامل ہیں اور ان کے بعد کے تابعین کا عمل اسی پر ہے اور اسی پر اکثر فقہاء و علماء کا عمل بھی ہے۔

Abu Hurairah narrated: Allah's Messenger would say the Takhir while he was going down.

Salim narrated from : his father (Ibn Umar) who said: I saw Allah's Messenger when he opened the Salat, raising his hands to the level of his shoulders, and (again) when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing. In his narration, Ibn Abi Umar added: And he wuld not raise them between the two prostrations.

Alqamah narrated that : Abdullah bin Mas'ud said: Shall I not demonstrate the Salat of Allah's Messenger to you? Then he offered Salat and he did not raise his hands except while saying the first Takbir.
