Salim narrated from : his father (Ibn Umar) who said: I saw Allah's Messenger when he opened the Salat, raising his hands to the level of his shoulders, and (again) when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing. In his narration, Ibn Abi Umar added: And he wuld not raise them between the two prostrations.
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَزَادَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ لَا يَرْفَعُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ .
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا کہ جب آپ نماز شروع کرتے تو اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اٹھاتے یہاں تک کہ انہیں اپنے دونوں کندھوں کے بالمقابل کرتے، اور جب رکوع کرتے اور رکوع سے اپنا سر اٹھاتے ( تو بھی اسی طرح دونوں ہاتھ اٹھاتے ) ۱؎۔ ابن ابی عمر ( ترمذی کے دوسرے استاذ ) نے اپنی روایت میں یہ اضافہ کیا ہے، دونوں سجدوں کے درمیان نہیں اٹھاتے تھے۔

Abbas bin Sahl [bin Sa'd] narrated: Abu Humaid, Abu Usaid, Sahl bin Sa'd, and Muhammad bin Maslamah were once together and they were mentioning the Salat of Allah's Messenger. Abu Humaid said: 'I am the most knowledgeable among you of the Salat of Allah's Messenger: Allah's Messenger would bow and place his hands on his knees as if he was grasping them, and he would draw his forearms to hold them away from his sides.'

Ibn Mas'ud narrated that : the Prophet said: When one of you bows then says while he is bowing: (Subhana Rabbiyal Azim) 'Glorious is my Lord the Magnificent' three times, then he has completed his bowing. And that is the least of it. And when he prostrates and says while prostrating: (Subhana Rabbiyal A'la) 'Glorious is my Lord the Most High' three times, then he has completed his prostrations, and that is the least of it.'
