Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: Dawud ibn Salih ibn Dinar at-Tammar quoted his mother as saying that her mistress sent her with some pudding (harisah) to Aishah who was offering prayer. She made a sign to me to place it down. A cat came and ate some of it, but when Aishah finished her prayer, she ate from the place where the cat had eaten. She stated: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: It is not unclean: it is one of those who go round among you. She added: I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم performing ablution from the water left over by the cat.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ صَالِحِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ التَّمَّارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ مَوْلَاتَهَا أَرْسَلَتْهَا بِهَرِيسَةٍ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَوَجَدَتْهَا تُصَلِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيَّ أَنْ ضَعِيهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَاءَتْ هِرَّةٌ فَأَكَلَتْ مِنْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَتْ أَكَلَتْ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَكَلَتِ الْهِرَّةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ إِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِنَجَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّمَا هِيَ مِنَ الطَّوَّافِينَ عَلَيْكُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَتَوَضَّأُ بِفَضْلِهَا.

داود بن صالح بن دینار تمار اپنی والدہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ ان کی مالکن نے انہیں ہریسہ ( ایک قسم کا کھانا ) دے کر ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کی خدمت میں بھیجا تو انہوں نے عائشہ کو نماز پڑھتے ہوئے پایا، عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے مجھے کھانا رکھ دینے کا اشارہ کیا ( میں نے کھانا رکھ دیا ) ، اتنے میں ایک بلی آ کر اس میں سے کچھ کھا گئی، جب ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نماز سے فارغ ہوئیں تو بلی نے جہاں سے کھایا تھا وہیں سے کھانے لگیں اور بولیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے: یہ ناپاک نہیں ہے، کیونکہ یہ تمہارے پاس آنے جانے والوں میں سے ہے ، اور میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بلی کے جھوٹے سے وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔

Narrated Aishah: I and the Messenger of Allaah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم took a bath from one vessel while we were sexually defiled.

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: My hands and the hands of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم alternated into one vessel while we performed ablution.

Narrated Ibn Umar: The males and females during the time of the Messenger of Allah ( sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam ) used to perform the ablution from one vessel together. The wordings from one vessel occur in the version of Musaddad.

Narrated Abd Allaah bin Umar: We (men) and women during the life-time of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to perform ablution from one vessel. We all put our hands in it.

Narrated Humayd al-Himyari: Humayd al-Himyari reported: I met a person (among the Companion of Prophet) who remained in the company of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلمfor four years as Abu Hurairah remained in his company. He reported: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade that the female should wash with the water left over by the male, and that the male should wash with the left-over of the female. The version of Musaddad adds: That they both take the handful of water together.
