Narrated Abd Allaah bin Umar: We (men) and women during the life-time of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to perform ablution from one vessel. We all put our hands in it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا نَتَوَضَّأُ نَحْنُ وَالنِّسَاءُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ نُدْلِي فِيهِ أَيْدِيَنَا .

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں ہم اور عورتیں مل کر ایک برتن سے وضو کرتے، اور ہم اپنے ہاتھ اس میں ( باری باری ) ڈالتے تھے۔

Narrated Humayd al-Himyari: Humayd al-Himyari reported: I met a person (among the Companion of Prophet) who remained in the company of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلمfor four years as Abu Hurairah remained in his company. He reported: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade that the female should wash with the water left over by the male, and that the male should wash with the left-over of the female. The version of Musaddad adds: That they both take the handful of water together.

Narrated Hakam ibn Amr: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade that the male should perform ablution with the water left over by the female.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: A man asked the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: Messenger of Allah, we travel on the sea and take a small quantity of water with us. If we use this for ablution, we would suffer from thirst. Can we perform ablution with sea water? The Messenger صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم replied: Its water is pure and what dies in it is lawful food.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: Abu Zayd quoted Abdullah ibn Masud as saying that on the night when the jinn listened to the Quran the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: What is in your skin vessel? He said: I have some nabidh. He (the Holy Prophet) said: It consists of fresh dates and pure water. Sulayman ibn Dawud reported the same version of this tradition on the authority of Abu Zayd or Zayd. But Sharik said that Hammad did not mention the words night of the jinn .

Narrated Alqamah: I asked Abd Allaah b Masud: Which of you was in the company of the Messenger of Allaah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم on the night when the jinn attended him? He replied: None of us was with him
