Narrated Humayd al-Himyari: Humayd al-Himyari reported: I met a person (among the Companion of Prophet) who remained in the company of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلمfor four years as Abu Hurairah remained in his company. He reported: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade that the female should wash with the water left over by the male, and that the male should wash with the left-over of the female. The version of Musaddad adds: That they both take the handful of water together.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَقِيتُ رَجُلًا صَحِبَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَ سِنِينَ كَمَا صَحِبَهُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ الْمَرْأَةُ بِفَضْلِ الرَّجُلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ يَغْتَسِلَ الرَّجُلُ بِفَضْلِ الْمَرْأَةِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏زَادَ مُسَدَّدٌ:‏‏‏‏ وَلْيَغْتَرِفَا جَمِيعًا.

حمید حمیری کہتے ہیں کہ میری ملاقات ایک ایسے شخص سے ہوئی جنہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی صحبت میں اسی طرح چار سال تک رہنے کا موقع ملا تھا جیسے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی صحبت میں رہے تھے، وہ کہتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عورت کو مرد کے بچے ہوئے پانی سے اور مرد کو عورت کے بچے ہوئے پانی سے غسل کرنے سے منع فرمایا۔ مسدد نے اتنا اضافہ کیا ہے: چاہیئے کہ دونوں ایک ساتھ لپ سے پانی لیں ۔

Narrated Hakam ibn Amr: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade that the male should perform ablution with the water left over by the female.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: A man asked the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: Messenger of Allah, we travel on the sea and take a small quantity of water with us. If we use this for ablution, we would suffer from thirst. Can we perform ablution with sea water? The Messenger صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم replied: Its water is pure and what dies in it is lawful food.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: Abu Zayd quoted Abdullah ibn Masud as saying that on the night when the jinn listened to the Quran the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: What is in your skin vessel? He said: I have some nabidh. He (the Holy Prophet) said: It consists of fresh dates and pure water. Sulayman ibn Dawud reported the same version of this tradition on the authority of Abu Zayd or Zayd. But Sharik said that Hammad did not mention the words night of the jinn .

Narrated Alqamah: I asked Abd Allaah b Masud: Which of you was in the company of the Messenger of Allaah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم on the night when the jinn attended him? He replied: None of us was with him

It is reported that Ata did not approve of performing ablution with milk and nabidh and said: tayammum is more my liking (than performing ablution with milk and nabidh).

Narrated Abu Khaldah: I asked Abul-Aliyah whether a person who is sexually defiled and has no water with him, but he has only nabidh, can wash with it? He replied in the negative.
