Abu Hurairah reported the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: A prophet got down beneath a tree and he was stung by an ant. He ordered regarding the baggage and it was removed from beneath it. He then ordered regarding it and it was burnt. Allah then revealed to him: why not (just) one ant?
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَزَلَ نَبِيٌّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ فَلَدَغَتْهُ نَمْلَةٌ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَمَرَ بِجِهَازِهِ فَأُخْرِجَ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا،‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَأُحْرِقَتْ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ فَهَلَّا نَمْلَةً وَاحِدَةً .
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: نبیوں میں سے ایک نبی ایک درخت کے نیچے اترے تو انہیں ایک چھوٹی چیونٹی نے کاٹ لیا، انہوں نے ( غصے میں آ کر ) سامان ہٹا لینے کا حکم دیا تو وہ اس کے نیچے سے ہٹا لیا گیا، پھر اس درخت میں آگ لگوا دی ( جس سے سب چیونٹیاں جل گئیں ) تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے انہیں وحی کے ذریعہ تنبیہ فرمائی: تم نے ایک ہی چیونٹی کو ( جس نے تمہیں کاٹا تھا ) کیوں نہ سزا دی ( سب کو کیوں مار ڈالا؟ ) ۔

Abu Hurairah reported Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: An ant stung a prophet. He ordered a colony of ants to be burned. Allah revealed to him: because an ant stung you, you have perished a community which glorifies Me.

Abdur-Rahman bin Abdullah quoted his father as saying: When we were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and he had gone to releive himself, we saw a Hummarah with two young ones. We took the young ones. The Hummarah came and began to spread out its wings. Then the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came and said: who has pained this young by the loss of her young? Give her young ones back to her. We also saw an ant-hill which we had burned. He asked? Who has burned this? We replied: we have. He said: it is not fitting that anyone but the lord of the fire should punish with fire.

Narrated Umm Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah: A woman used to perform circumcision in Madina. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to her: Do not cut severely as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband. Abu Dawud said: It has been transmitted by Ubaid Allah bin Amr from Abd al-Malik to the same effect through a different chain. Abu Dawud said: It is not a strong tradition. It has been transmitted in mursal form (missing the link of the Companions) Abu Dawud said: Muhammad bin Hasan is obscure, and this tradition is weak.
