Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: By him in whose hand my soul is, you will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another: should I not guide you to something doing which you will love one another: spread out salutation among you.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي شُعَيْبٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَفَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى أَمْرٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ .
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے قبضے میں میری جان ہے: تم جنت میں نہ جاؤ گے جب تک کہ ایمان نہ لے آؤ، اور تم ( کامل ) مومن نہیں ہو سکتے جب تک کہ تم آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے محبت نہ رکھنے لگو۔ کیا میں تمہیں ایسا کام نہ بتاؤں کہ جب تم اسے کرنے لگو گے تو تم آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے محبت کرنے لگو: آپس میں سلام کو عام کرو ۔

Another man came and said: Peace and Allah's mercy be upon you! He responded to his salutation when he sat down. He said: Twenty.
