Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: A man came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and said: Messenger of Allah! one of us has thoughts of such nature that he would rather be reduced to charcoal than speak about them. He said: Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great. Praise be to Allah Who has reduced the guile of the devil to evil prompting. Ibn Qudamah said reduced his matter instead of reduced his guile . Ibn Qudamah said reduced his matter instead of reduced his guile .

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَابْنُ قُدَامَةَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ذَرٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّ أَحَدَنَا يَجِدُ فِي نَفْسِهِ يُعَرِّضُ بِالشَّيْءِ لَأَنْ يَكُونَ حُمَمَةً أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَ بِهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي رَدَّ كَيْدَهُ إِلَى الْوَسْوَسَةِ ،‏‏‏‏ قال ابْنُ قُدَامَةَ:‏‏‏‏ رَدَّ أَمْرَهُ مَكَانَ رَدَّ كَيْدَهُ.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا، اور اس نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! ہم میں سے کسی کے دل میں ایسا وسوسہ پیدا ہوتا ہے، کہ اس کو بیان کرنے سے راکھ ہو جانا یا جل کر کوئلہ ہو جانا بہتر معلوم ہوتا ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: اللہ اکبر، اللہ اکبر، شکر ہے اس اللہ کا جس نے شیطان کے مکر کو وسوسہ بنا دیا ( اور وسوسہ مومن کو نقصان نہیں پہنچاتا ) ۔ ابن قدامہ نے اپنی روایت میں «رد كيده» کی جگہ «رد أمره» کہا ہے۔

Saeed bin Malik said: My ears heard it end my heart remembered it from Muhammad صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم who said: if a man claims to be the son of a man who is not his father, paradise will be forbidden for him. He said: I then met Abu Bakrah and mentioned it to him. He said: my ears heard it and my heart remembered it from Muhammad صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Asim said: I said: Abu Uthman! Two men testified before you. Who are they? He said: One of them is the one who is first to shoot arrow in the path of Allah or in the path of Islam, that is to say: Saad bin Malik. The other is the one came from al-Taif with ten and some men on foot. He then mentioned his excellence. Abu Dawud said: When al-Nufaili mentioned this tradition, he said: I swear by Allah, this is sweater with me than honey, that is no say, his way transmission. Abu Ali said: I heard Abu Dawud say: I heard Ahmad say: The people of Kufah have no light in their traditions. I did not see them like the people of Basrah. They learnt it from Shubah.

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: if a man becomes the client of any people without the permission of his patrons (i. e. those who have freed him), on him will be the curse of Allah, of angels and of all people; no obligatory or supererogatory worship will be accepted from him.

Anas bin Malik reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: If anyone pretends to be the son of a man other than his father, or attributes his freedom to people other than those who set him free, on him will be the curse of Allah that will continue till the day of resurrection.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Allah, Most High, has removed from you the pride of the pre-Islamic period and its boasting in ancestors. One is only a pious believer or a miserable sinner. You are sons of Adam, and Adam came from dust. Let the people cease to boast about their ancestors. They are merely fuel in Jahannam; or they will certainly be of less account with Allah than the beetle which rolls dung with its nose.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: If anyone helps his people in an unrighteous cause, he is like a camel which falls into a well and is pulled out by its tail.
