Sahl b. Sa'd Sa'idi reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) was given a drink, and he drank from that, and there was on his right side a boy. and on his left some old men. He said to the boy: Do you permit me to give it to them (the old men), but that boy said: by God. I will not give preference at your hand over me in my share. He (the narrator) said that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) then gave it in his hand.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ فِيمَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ غُلَامٌ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَشْيَاخٌ فَقَالَ لِلْغُلَامِ أَتَأْذَنُ لِي أَنْ أُعْطِيَ هَؤُلَاءِ فَقَالَ الْغُلَامُ لَا وَاللَّهِ لَا أُوثِرُ بِنَصِيبِي مِنْكَ أَحَدًا قَالَ فَتَلَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَدِهِ

امام مالک بن انس نے ابو حازم سے ، انھوں نے حضرت سہل بن ساعدی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس پینے کی کوئی چیز آئی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے پیا ۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے دائیں طرف ایک لڑکا تھا اور بائیں طرف بڑے لوگ تھے ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے لڑکے سے فرمایا کہ تو مجھ کو بڑے لوگوں کو پہلے دینے کی اجازت دیتا ہے؟ وہ بولا کہ نہیں اللہ کی قسم میں اپنا حصہ کسی دوسرے کو نہیں دینا چاہتا ۔ یہ سن کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس لڑکے کے ہاتھ میں دے دیا ۔

Ibn 'Abbas reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him.) as saying: When any one of you eats food he should not wipe his hand until he has licked it himself or has given it to someone else to lick.

Ibn 'Abbas reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: When any one of you eats food he should not wipe his hand until he has licked it or got it licked by (someone else).

Ibn Ka'b b. Malik reported on the authority of his father that he saw Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) licking his three fingers (after having finished the food). Ibn Hatim made no mention of three . This hadith is also narrated through another chain of transmitters.

Ibn Ka'b b. Malik reported on the authority of his father that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to eat (food) with three fingers and he licked his hand before wiping it (with towel).

Abdullah b. Ka'b reported that his father Ka'b narrated to him that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to eat with three fingers and when he had finished (eating), he licked them.
