Narrated `Amr bin Al-`As: I heard the Prophet saying openly not secretly, The family of Abu so-and-so (i.e. Talib) are not among my protectors. `Amr said that there was a blank space (1) in the Book of Muhammad bin Ja`far. He added, My Protector is Allah and the righteous believing people. `Amr bin Al-`As added: I heard the Prophet saying, 'But they (that family) have kinship (Rahm) with me and I will be good and dutiful to them.

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جِهَارًا غَيْرَ سِرٍّ يَقُولُ : إِنَّ آلَ أَبِي ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو : فِي كِتَابِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ بَيَاضٌ لَيْسُوا بِأَوْلِيَائِي ، إِنَّمَا وَلِيِّيَ اللَّهُ وَصَالِحُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، زَادَ عَنْبَسَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَلَكِنْ لَهُمْ رَحِمٌ أَبُلُّهَا بِبَلَاهَا ، يَعْنِي أَصِلُهَا بِصِلَتِهَا . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ بِبَلَاهَا كَذَا وَقَعَ وَبِبَلَالِهَا أَجْوَدُ وَأَصَحُّ وَبِبَلَاهَا لَا أَعْرِفُ لَهُ وَجْهًا .

ہم سے عمرو بن عباس نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا مجھ سے محمد بن جعفر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے اسماعیل بن ابی خالد نے بیان کیا، ان سے قیس بن ابی حازم نے بیان کیا، ان سے عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا کہ فلاں کی اولاد ( یعنی ابوسفیان بن حکم بن عاص یا ابولہب کی اولاد ) یہ عمرو بن عباس نے کہا کہ محمد بن جعفر کی کتاب میں اس وہم پر سفید جگہ خالی تھی ( یعنی تحریر نہ تھی ) میرے عزیز نہیں ہیں ( گو ان سے نسبی رشتہ ہے ) میرا ولی تو اللہ ہے اور میرے عزیز تو ولی ہیں جو مسلمانوں میں نیک اور پرہیزگار ہیں ( گو ان سے نسبی رشتہ بھی نہ ہو ) ۔ عنبسہ بن عبدالواحد نے بیان بن بشر سے، انہوں نے قیس سے، انہوں نے عمرو بن العاص سے اتنا بڑھایا ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا، آپ نے فرمایا البتہ ان سے میرا رشتہ ناطہٰ ہے اگر وہ تر رکھیں گے تو میں بھی تر رکھوں گا یعنی وہ ناطہٰ جوڑیں گے تو میں بھی جوڑوں گا۔

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: The Prophet said, Al-Wasil is not the one who recompenses the good done to him by his relatives, but Al-Wasil is the one who keeps good relations with those relatives who had severed the bond of kinship with him.

Narrated Hakim bin Hizam: That he said, O Allah's Apostle! What do you think about my good deeds which I used to do during the period of ignorance (before embracing Islam) like keeping good relations with my Kith and kin, manumitting of slaves and giving alms etc; Shall I receive the reward for that? Allah's Apostle said, You have embraced Islam with all those good deeds which you did.

Narrated Sa`id: Um Khalid bint Khalid bin Sa`id said, I came to Allah's Apostle along with my father and I was wearing a yellow shirt. Allah's Apostle said, Sanah Sanah! (`Abdullah, the sub-narrator said, It means, 'Nice, nice!' in the Ethiopian language. ) Um Khalid added, Then I started playing with the seal of Prophethood. My father admonished me. But Allah's Apostle said (to my father), Leave her, Allah's Apostle (then addressing me) said, May you live so long that your dress gets worn out, and you will mend it many times, and then wear another till it gets worn out (i.e. May Allah prolong your life). (The sub-narrator, `Abdullah aid, That garment (which she was wearing remained usable for a long period. ).

Narrated Ibn Abi Na'm: I was present when a man asked Ibn `Umar about the blood of mosquitoes. Ibn `Umar said, From where are you? The man replied. From Iraq. Ibn `Umar said, Look at that! he is asking me about the blood of Mosquitoes while they (the Iraqis ) have killed the (grand) son of the Prophet. I have heard the Prophet saying, They (Hasan and Husain) are my two sweet-smelling flowers in this world.

Narrated `Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) A lady along with her two daughters came to me asking me (for some alms), but she found nothing with me except one date which I gave to her and she divided it between her two daughters, and then she got up and went away. Then the Prophet came in and I informed him about this story. He said, Whoever is in charge of (put to test by) these daughters and treats them generously, then they will act as a shield for him from the (Hell) Fire.

Narrated Abu Qatada: The Prophet came out towards us, while carrying Umamah, the daughter of Abi Al-As (his granddaughter) over his shoulder. He prayed, and when he wanted to bow, he put her down, and when he stood up, he lifted her up.
