Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet performed a prostration when he finished reciting Surat-an-Najm, and all the Muslims and pagans and Jinns and human beings prostrated along with him.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : سَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالنَّجْمِ ، وَسَجَدَ مَعَهُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ، وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ ، وَالْجِنُّ ، وَالْإِنْسُ . تَابَعَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ .
ہم سے ابومعمر عبداللہ بن عمرو نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبدالوارث بن سعید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ایوب سختیانی نے بیان کیا، ان سے عکرمہ نے اور ان سے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سورۃ النجم میں سجدہ کیا اور آپ کے ساتھ مسلمانوں نے اور تمام مشرکوں اور جنات و انسانوں نے بھی سجدہ کیا۔ عبدالوارث کے ساتھ اس حدیث کو ابراہیم بن طہمان نے بھی ایوب سے روایت کیا اور اسمٰعیل بن علیہ نے اپنی روایت میں ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کا ذکر نہیں کیا۔

Narrated `Abdullah: The first Sura in which a prostration was mentioned, was Sura An-Najm (The Star). Allah's Messenger prostrated (while reciting it), and everybody behind him prostrated except a man whom I saw taking a hand-full of dust in his hand and prostrated on it. Later I saw that man killed as an infidel, and he was Umaiya bin Khalaf.

Narrated Ibn Masud: During the lifetime of Allah's Messenger the moon was split into two parts; one part remained over the mountain, and the other part went beyond the mountain. On that, Allah's Messenger said, Witness this miracle.
