Narrated `Ali: Fatima complained of what she suffered from the hand mill and from grinding, when she got the news that some slave girls of the booty had been brought to Allah's Apostle. She went to him to ask for a maid-servant, but she could not find him, and told `Aisha of her need. When the Prophet came, Aisha informed him of that. The Prophet came to our house when we had gone to our beds. (On seeing the Prophet) we were going to get up, but he said, 'Keep at your places,' I felt the coolness of the Prophet's feet on my chest. Then he said, Shall I tell you a thing which is better than what you asked me for? When you go to your beds, say: 'Allahu Akbar (i.e. Allah is Greater)' for 34 times, and 'Al hamdu Li llah (i.e. all the praises are for Allah)' for 33 times, and Subhan Allah (i.e. Glorified be Allah) for 33 times. This is better for you than what you have requested.

حَدَّثَنَا بَدَلُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَكَمُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ عَلَيْهَا السَّلَام اشْتَكَتْ مَا تَلْقَى مِنَ الرَّحَى مِمَّا تَطْحَنُ فَبَلَغَهَا أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أُتِيَ بِسَبْيٍ فَأَتَتْهُ تَسْأَلُهُ خَادِمًا فَلَمْ تُوَافِقْهُ فَذَكَرَتْ لِعَائِشَةَ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ عَائِشَةُ لَهُ فَأَتَانَا وَقَدْ دَخَلْنَا مَضَاجِعَنَا فَذَهَبْنَا لِنَقُومَ ، فَقَالَ : عَلَى مَكَانِكُمَا حَتَّى وَجَدْتُ بَرْدَ قَدَمَيْهِ عَلَى صَدْرِي ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمَا عَلَى خَيْرٍ مِمَّا سَأَلْتُمَاهُ إِذَا أَخَذْتُمَا مَضَاجِعَكُمَا فَكَبِّرَا اللَّهَ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ ، وَاحْمَدَا ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ ، وَسَبِّحَا ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمَا مِمَّا سَأَلْتُمَاهُ .

ہم سے بدل بن محبر نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم کو شعبہ نے خبر دی ‘ کہا کہ مجھے حکم نے خبر دی ‘ کہا کہ میں نے ابن ابی لیلیٰ سے سنا ‘ کہا مجھ سے علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو چکی پیسنے کی بہت تکلیف ہوتی۔ پھر انہیں معلوم ہوا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس کچھ قیدی آئے ہیں۔ اس لیے وہ بھی ان میں سے ایک لونڈی یا غلام کی درخواست لے کر حاضر ہوئیں۔ لیکن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم موجود نہیں تھے۔ وہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے اس کے متعلق کہہ کر ( واپس ) چلی آئیں۔ پھر جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے تو عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے ان کی درخواست پیش کر دی۔ علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ اسے سن کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے یہاں ( رات ہی کو ) تشریف لائے۔ جب ہم اپنے بستروں پر لیٹ چکے تھے ( جب ہم نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا ( تو ہم لوگ کھڑے ہونے لگے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جس طرح ہو ویسے ہی لیٹے رہو۔ ( پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میرے اور فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے بیچ میں بیٹھ گئے اور اتنے قریب ہو گئے کہ ) میں نے آپ کے دونوں قدموں کی ٹھنڈک اپنے سینے پر پائی۔ اس کے بعد آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جو کچھ تم لوگوں نے ( لونڈی یا غلام ) مانگے ہیں ‘ میں تمہیں اس سے بہتر بات کیوں نہ بتاؤں ‘ جب تم دونوں اپنے بستر پر لیٹ جاؤ ( تو سونے سے پہلے ) اللہ اکبر 34 مرتبہ اور الحمداللہ 33 مرتبہ اور سبحان اللہ 33 مرتبہ پڑھ لیا کرو ‘ یہ عمل بہتر ہے اس سے جو تم دونوں نے مانگا ہے۔

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah (ra): A boy was born to one of our men, the Ansar, and he wanted to name him Muhammad. Then Ansari man said, I took the boy to the Prophet (saws). The Prophet (saws) said, Name your child by my name, but do not name (them) by my Kunya, for I have been made Qasim (i.e., a distributor) to distribute (the booty etc.) amongst you. The narrator, Husain said that the Prophet (saws) said, I have been sent as a Qasim (i.e., distributor) to distribute (things) amongst you. [The Sub narrator Salim said that he heard Jabir saying that the man wanted to name the boy Al-Qasim, but the Prophet (saws) said, Call (your sons) by my name, but do not name (them) by my Kunya. ]

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah Al-Ansari: A man amongst us begot a boy whom he named Al-Qasim. On that the Ansar said, (to the man), We will never call you Abu-al-Qasim and will never please you with this blessed title. So, he went to the Prophet and said, O Allah's Apostle! I have begotten a boy whom I named Al-Qasim and the Ansar said, 'We will never call you Abu-al-Qasim, nor will we please you with this title.' The Prophet said, The Ansar have done well. Name by my name, but do not name by my Kunya, for I am Qasim.

p>Narrated Muawiya: Allah's Apostle said, If Allah wants to do good for somebody, he makes him comprehend the Religion (i.e. Islam), and Allah is the Giver and I am Al-Qasim (i.e. the distributor), and this (Muslim) nation will remain victorious over their opponents, till Allah's Order comes and they will still be victorious

Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, Neither do I give you (anything) nor withhold (anything) from you, but I am just a distributor (i.e. Qasim), and I give as I am ordered.

Narrated Khaula Al-Ansariya: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, Some people spend Allah's Wealth (i.e. Muslim's wealth) in an unjust manner; such people will be put in the (Hell) Fire on the Day of Resurrection.
