Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah Al-Ansari: A man amongst us begot a boy whom he named Al-Qasim. On that the Ansar said, (to the man), We will never call you Abu-al-Qasim and will never please you with this blessed title. So, he went to the Prophet and said, O Allah's Apostle! I have begotten a boy whom I named Al-Qasim and the Ansar said, 'We will never call you Abu-al-Qasim, nor will we please you with this title.' The Prophet said, The Ansar have done well. Name by my name, but do not name by my Kunya, for I am Qasim.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : وُلِدَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَّا غُلَامٌ فَسَمَّاهُ الْقَاسِمَ ، فَقَالَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ : لَا نَكْنِيكَ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ وَلَا نُنْعِمُكَ عَيْنًا ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وُلِدَ لِي غُلَامٌ فَسَمَّيْتُهُ الْقَاسِمَ ، فَقَالَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ : لَا نَكْنِيكَ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ وَلَا نُنْعِمُكَ عَيْنًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَحْسَنَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ سَمُّوا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا قَاسِمٌ .

ہم سے محمد بن یوسف بیکندی نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے سفیان ثوری نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے اعمش نے ‘ ان سے ابوسالم نے ‘ ان سے ابوالجعد نے اور ان سے جابر بن عبداللہ انصاری رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ ہمارے قبیلہ میں ایک شخص کے یہاں بچہ پیدا ہوا ‘ تو انہوں نے اس کا نام قاسم رکھا ‘ انصار کہنے لگے کہ ہم تمہیں ابوالقاسم کہہ کر کبھی نہیں پکاریں گے اور ہم تمہاری آنکھ ٹھنڈی نہیں کریں گے یہ سن کر وہ انصاری آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور عرض کی یا رسول اللہ! میرے گھر ایک بچہ پیدا ہوا ہے۔ میں نے اس کا نام قاسم رکھا ہے تو انصار کہتے ہیں ہم تیری کنیت ابوالقاسم نہیں پکاریں گے اور تیری آنکھ ٹھنڈی نہیں کریں گے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”انصار نے ٹھیک کہا ہے میرے نام پر نام رکھو ‘ لیکن میری کنیت مت رکھو ‘ کیونکہ قاسم میں ہوں۔“

p>Narrated Muawiya: Allah's Apostle said, If Allah wants to do good for somebody, he makes him comprehend the Religion (i.e. Islam), and Allah is the Giver and I am Al-Qasim (i.e. the distributor), and this (Muslim) nation will remain victorious over their opponents, till Allah's Order comes and they will still be victorious

Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, Neither do I give you (anything) nor withhold (anything) from you, but I am just a distributor (i.e. Qasim), and I give as I am ordered.

Narrated Khaula Al-Ansariya: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, Some people spend Allah's Wealth (i.e. Muslim's wealth) in an unjust manner; such people will be put in the (Hell) Fire on the Day of Resurrection.
