Narrated `Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakr: We were one-hundred and thirty persons accompanying the Prophet who asked us whether anyone of us had food. There was a man who had about a Sa of wheat which was mixed with water then. A very tall pagan came driving sheep. The Prophet asked him, Will you sell us (a sheep) or give it as a present? He said, I will sell you (a sheep). The Prophet bought a sheep and it was slaughtered. The Prophet ordered that its liver and other Abdominal organs be roasted. By Allah, the Prophet gave every person of the one-hundred-and-thirty a piece of that; he gave all those of them who were present; and kept the shares of those who were absent. The Prophet then put its meat in two huge basins and all of them ate to their fill, and even then more food was left in the two basins which were carried on the camel (or said something like it).

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثِينَ وَمِائَةً ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : هَلْ مَعَ أَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ طَعَامٌ ؟ فَإِذَا مَعَ رَجُلٍ صَاعٌ مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَوْ نَحْوُهُ ، فَعُجِنَ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مُشْرِكٌ مُشْعَانٌّ طَوِيلٌ بِغَنَمٍ يَسُوقُهَا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بَيْعًا أَمْ عَطِيَّةً أَوْ قَالَ أَمْ هِبَةً ، قَالَ : لَا ، بَلْ بَيْعٌ ، فَاشْتَرَى مِنْهُ شَاةً ، فَصُنِعَتْ ، وَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَوَادِ الْبَطْنِ أَنْ يُشْوَى ، وَايْمُ اللَّهِ مَا فِي الثَّلَاثِينَ وَالْمِائَةِ إِلَّا قَدْ حَزَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهُ حُزَّةً مِنْ سَوَادِ بَطْنِهَا ، إِنْ كَانَ شَاهِدًا أَعْطَاهَا إِيَّاهُ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ غَائِبًا خَبَأَ لَهُ ، فَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا قَصْعَتَيْنِ ، فَأَكَلُوا أَجْمَعُونَ وَشَبِعْنَا ، فَفَضَلَتِ الْقَصْعَتَانِ ، فَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَى الْبَعِيرِ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ .

ہم سے ابوالنعمان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے معتمر بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا، ان سے ان کے باپ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوعثمان نے بیان کیا اور ان سے عبدالرحمٰن بن ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ ہم ایک سو تیس آدمی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ( ایک سفر میں ) تھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دریافت فرمایا کیا کسی کے ساتھ کھانے کی بھی کوئی چیز ہے؟ ایک صحابی کے ساتھ تقریباً ایک صاع کھانا ( آٹا ) تھا۔ وہ آٹا گوندھا گیا۔ پھر ایک لمبا تڑنگا مشرک پریشان حال بکریاں ہانکتا ہوا آیا۔ تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دریافت فرمایا یہ بیچنے کے لیے ہیں۔ یا کسی کا عطیہ ہے یا آپ نے ( عطیہ کی بجائے ) ہبہ فرمایا۔ اس نے کہا کہ نہیں بیچنے کے لیے ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے ایک بکری خریدی پھر وہ ذبح کی گئی۔ پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کی کلیجی بھوننے کے لیے کہا۔ قسم اللہ کی ایک سو تیس اصحاب میں سے ہر ایک کو اس کلیجی میں سے کاٹ کے دیا۔ جو موجود تھے انہیں تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فوراً ہی دے دیا اور جو اس وقت موجود نہیں تھے ان کا حصہ محفوظ رکھ لیا۔ پھر بکری کے گوشت کو دو بڑی قابوں میں رکھا گیا اور سب نے خوب سیر ہو کر کھایا۔ جو کچھ قابوں میں بچ گیا تھا اسے اونٹ پر رکھ کر ہم واپس لائے۔ او کما قال۔

Narrated Ibn `Umar: `Umar saw a silken cloak over a man for sale and requested the Prophet to buy it in order to wear it on Fridays and while meeting delegates. The Prophet said, This is worn by the one who will have no share in the Hereafter. Later on Allah's Apostle got some silken cloaks similar to that one, and he sent one to `Umar. `Umar said to the Prophet How can I wear it, while you said about it what you said? The Prophet said, I have not given it to you to wear, but to sell or to give to someone else. So, `Umar sent it to his brother at Mecca before he embraced Islam.

Narrated Asma' bint Abu Bakr: My mother came to me during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle and she was a pagan. I said to Allah's Apostle (seeking his verdict), My mother has come to me and she desires to receive a reward from me, shall I keep good relations with her? The Prophet said, Yes, keep good relation with her.

Narrated `Umar bin Al-Khattab: I gave a horse in Allah's Cause. The person to whom it was given, did not look after it. I intended to buy it from him, thinking that he would sell it cheap. When I asked the Prophet he said, Don't buy it, even if he gives it to you for one Dirham, as the person who takes back what he has given in charity, is like a dog that swallows back its vomit.

Narrated Asma' bint Abu Bakr (ra): My mother came to me during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (saws) and she was a Mushrikah (polytheist, idolatress, pagan). I said to Allah's Messenger (saws) (seeking his verdict), My mother has come to and she desires to recieve a reward from me, shall I keep good relations with her ? The Prophet (saws) said, Yes, keep good relation with her.
