Narrated Asma' bint Abu Bakr: My mother came to me during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle and she was a pagan. I said to Allah's Apostle (seeking his verdict), My mother has come to me and she desires to receive a reward from me, shall I keep good relations with her? The Prophet said, Yes, keep good relation with her.

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَتْ : قَدِمَتْ عَلَيَّ أُمِّي وَهِيَ مُشْرِكَةٌ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَاسْتَفْتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قُلْتُ : وَهِيَ رَاغِبَةٌ ، أَفَأَصِلُ أُمِّي ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، صِلِي أُمَّكِ .

ہم سے عبید بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا ہشام سے، ان سے ان کے باپ نے اور ان سے اسماء بنت ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں میری والدہ ( قتیلہ بنت عبدالعزیٰ ) جو مشرکہ تھیں، میرے یہاں آئیں۔ میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا، میں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ وہ ( مجھ سے ملاقات کی ) بہت خواہشمند ہیں، تو کیا میں اپنی والدہ کے ساتھ صلہ رحمی کر سکتی ہوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ہاں اپنی والدہ کے ساتھ صلہ رحمی کر۔

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet said, He who takes back his present is like him who swallows his vomit.

Narrated `Umar bin Al-Khattab: I gave a horse in Allah's Cause. The person to whom it was given, did not look after it. I intended to buy it from him, thinking that he would sell it cheap. When I asked the Prophet he said, Don't buy it, even if he gives it to you for one Dirham, as the person who takes back what he has given in charity, is like a dog that swallows back its vomit.

I said to Allah's Messenger (saws) (seeking his verdict), My mother has come to and she desires to recieve a reward from me, shall I keep good relations with her ? The Prophet (saws) said, Yes, keep good relation with her.
