Arabic, English and Urdu

Aishah narrated: Allah's Messenger performed Salat behind Abu Bakr, during the illness from which he died, and he was sitting.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ قَاعِدًا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا صَلَّى الْإِمَامُ جَالِسًا فَصَلُّوا جُلُوسًا وَرُوِيَ عَنْهَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ فِي مَرَضِهِ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَصَلَّى إِلَى جَنْبِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَالنَّاسُ يَأْتَمُّونَ بِأَبِي بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يَأْتَمُّ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . وَرُوِيَ عَنْهَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَاعِدًا . وَرُوِي عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی اس بیماری میں جس میں آپ کی وفات ہوئی ابوبکر کے پیچھے بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھی ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کی حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔ اور عائشہ رضی الله عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب امام بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو“، اور ان سے یہ بھی مروی ہے کہ ”نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنی بیماری میں نکلے اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا رہے تھے تو آپ نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پہلو میں نماز پڑھی، لوگ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کی اقتداء کر رہے تھے اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اقتداء کر رہے تھے۔ اور انہی سے یہ بھی مروی ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھی۔ اور انس بن مالک سے بھی مروی ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھی۔

Ash-Sha'bi narrated: Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah led us in Salat, and he continued after the two Rak'ah, so the people said: 'Subhan Allah' and he said: 'Subhan Allah' to them. When he finished his Salat he said the Taslim then performed two prostrations of As-Sahw while he was sitting. Then he narrated to them that Allah's Messenger did the same with them as he had done.

Ziyad bin Haqah narrated: Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah les us in Salat. When he prayed two Rak'ah he stood without sitting. Those who were behind him said 'Subhan Allah' and he indicated to them that they should stand. He said the Taslim when he had finished his Salat and he performed two prostrations of As-Sahw, and said the Taslim. He said that Allah's Messenger did this.

Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated from his father (Abdullah bin Mas'ud) that he said: When Allah's Messenger sat for the first two Rak'ah it was as if he was on hot stones. Shu'bah (one of the narrators) said: Then Sa'd's lips moved (saying) something. So I said: 'Until he stood?' He said: 'Until he stood.'

Suhaib narrated: I passed by Allah's Messenger (S) while he was performing Salat, so I said greeted him with Salam, and he returned it by making signals. He said: I do not know except that he said: 'He indicated with his finger.'

Ibn Umar narrated: I said to Bilal: 'How did the Prophet (S) reply to them when they gave him Salams and he was performing Salat?' He said: 'He would motion with his hand.'
