Ibn Umar narrated: I said to Bilal: 'How did the Prophet (S) reply to them when they gave him Salams and he was performing Salat?' He said: 'He would motion with his hand.'

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِبِلَالٍ:‏‏‏‏ كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ حِينَ كَانُوا يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَدِيثُ صُهَيْبٍ حَسَنٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ اللَّيْثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِبِلَالٍ:‏‏‏‏ كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ حَيْثُ كَانُوا يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ فِي مَسْجِدِ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يَرُدُّ إِشَارَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكِلَا الْحَدِيثَيْنِ عِنْدِي صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِأَنَّ قِصَّةَ حَدِيثِ صُهَيْبٍ غَيْرُ قِصَّةِ حَدِيثِ بِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَوَى عَنْهُمَا فَاحْتَمَلَ أَنْ يَكُونَ سَمِعَ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے بلال رضی الله عنہ سے پوچھا کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم صحابہ کو جب وہ سلام کرتے اور آپ نماز میں ہوتے تو کیسے جواب دیتے تھے؟ تو بلال نے کہا: آپ اپنے ہاتھ کے اشارہ سے جواب دیتے تھے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اور صہیب کی حدیث حسن ہے، ہم اسے صرف لیث ہی کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں انہوں نے بکیر سے روایت کی ہے اور یہ زید ابن اسلم سے بھی مروی ہے وہ ابن عمر سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے بلال سے پوچھا: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کس طرح جواب دیتے تھے جب لوگ مسجد بنی عمرو بن عوف میں آپ کو سلام کرتے تھے؟ تو انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ آپ اشارے سے جواب دیتے تھے۔ میرے نزدیک دونوں حدیثیں صحیح ہیں، اس لیے کہ صہیب رضی الله عنہ کا قصہ بلال رضی الله عنہ کے قصے کے علاوہ ہے، اگرچہ ابن عمر رضی الله عنہما نے ان دونوں سے روایت کی ہے، تو اس بات کا احتمال ہے کہ انہوں نے دونوں سے سنا ہو۔

Abu Hurairah narrated that: Allah's Messenger said: The Tasbih is for the men and clapping is for the women.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the : Prophet (S) said: Yawning is from the Shaitan, so when one of you yawns then let him suppress (it) as much as possible.

Imran bin Husain narrated: I asked Allah's Messenger (S) about the Salat for a man who is sitting. He said: 'Whoever performs Salat while standing then that is more virtuous. And whoever performs Salat while sitting, then he gets half the rewards of the one standing, and whoever performs Salat while lying down, then he gets half the rewards of the one sitting.'

This Hadith has been related from Ibrahim bin Tahman with this chain. Except that he said: From Imran bin Husain who said: 'I asked Allah's Messenger (S) about Salat for a sick person. He said: He performs Salat standing, if he is not able then sitting, if he is not able then on his side.

Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet (S), narrated: I did not see Allah's Messenger (S) praying voluntary prayers sitting until the year before he died. Then he would perform Salat for the voluntary prayers sitting, and he would recite a Surah and prolong it such that it would be longer than the longest of them.

Aishah narrated: The Prophet (S) would perform Salat while sitting. And he would recite while sitting. When about thirty or forty Ayah of his recitation remained he would standup and recite while he was standing, then he would bow and prostrate. Then he would do the same in the second Rak'ah.
