Translation

Arabic, English and Urdu

Suhaib narrated: I passed by Allah's Messenger (S) while he was performing Salat, so I said greeted him with Salam, and he returned it by making signals. He said: I do not know except that he said: 'He indicated with his finger.'

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ، عَنْ نَابِلٍ صَاحِبِ الْعَبَاءِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَرَرْتُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَدَّ إِلَيَّ إِشَارَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا أَعْلَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِشَارَةً بِإِصْبَعِهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ بِلَالٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَنَسٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَائِشَةَ.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ صہیب رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں: میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس سے گزرا اور آپ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، میں نے سلام کیا تو آپ نے مجھے اشارے سے جواب دیا، راوی ( ابن عمر ) کہتے ہیں کہ میرا یہی خیال ہے کہ صہیب نے کہا: آپ نے اپنی انگلی کے اشارے سے جواب دیا ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- صہیب کی حدیث حسن ہے ۲؎، ۲- اس باب میں بلال، ابوہریرہ، انس، ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Ibn Umar narrated: I said to Bilal: 'How did the Prophet (S) reply to them when they gave him Salams and he was performing Salat?' He said: 'He would motion with his hand.'

Abu Hurairah narrated that: Allah's Messenger said: The Tasbih is for the men and clapping is for the women.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the : Prophet (S) said: Yawning is from the Shaitan, so when one of you yawns then let him suppress (it) as much as possible.

Imran bin Husain narrated: I asked Allah's Messenger (S) about the Salat for a man who is sitting. He said: 'Whoever performs Salat while standing then that is more virtuous. And whoever performs Salat while sitting, then he gets half the rewards of the one standing, and whoever performs Salat while lying down, then he gets half the rewards of the one sitting.'

This Hadith has been related from Ibrahim bin Tahman with this chain. Except that he said: From Imran bin Husain who said: 'I asked Allah's Messenger (S) about Salat for a sick person. He said: He performs Salat standing, if he is not able then sitting, if he is not able then on his side.

Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet (S), narrated: I did not see Allah's Messenger (S) praying voluntary prayers sitting until the year before he died. Then he would perform Salat for the voluntary prayers sitting, and he would recite a Surah and prolong it such that it would be longer than the longest of them.
