Translation

Thawban narrated that : the Prophet said: It is not allowed for a man to look into the interior of a man's house until he has been given permission, for if he looks, then he has entered. And one who leads people (in Salat) should not supplicate for himself alone with the exclusion of his congregation. If he does, then he has betrayed them. And one is not to stand for Salat while he has to urinate.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيٍّ الْمُؤَذِّنِ الْحِمْصِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرِئٍ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ فِي جَوْفِ بَيْتِ امْرِئٍ حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ نَظَرَ فَقَدْ دَخَلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا يَؤُمَّ قَوْمًا فَيَخُصَّ نَفْسَهُ بِدَعْوَةٍ دُونَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ خَانَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا يَقُومُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَهُوَ حَقِنٌ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبِي أُمَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ ثَوْبَانَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ السَّفْرِ بْنِ نُسَيْرٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَأَنَّ حَدِيثَ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي حَيٍّ الْمُؤَذِّنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ فِي هَذَا أَجْوَدُ إِسْنَادًا وَأَشْهَرُ.

ثوبان رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کسی آدمی کے لیے جائز نہیں کہ وہ کسی کے گھر کے اندر جھانک کر دیکھے جب تک کہ گھر میں داخل ہونے کی اجازت نہ لے لے۔ اگر اس نے ( جھانک کر ) دیکھا تو گویا وہ اندر داخل ہو گیا۔ اور کوئی لوگوں کی امامت اس طرح نہ کرے کہ ان کو چھوڑ کر دعا کو صرف اپنے لیے خاص کرے، اگر اس نے ایسا کیا تو اس نے ان سے خیانت کی، اور نہ کوئی نماز کے لیے کھڑا ہو اور حال یہ ہو کہ وہ پاخانہ اور پیشاب کو روکے ہوئے ہو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ثوبان رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث معاویہ بن صالح سے بھی مروی ہے، معاویہ نے اس کو بطریق: «سفر بن نسير عن يزيد بن شريح عن أبي أمامة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» روایت کی ہے، نیز یہ حدیث یزید بن شریح ہی کے واسطے سے بطریق: «أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» روایت کی گئی ہے۔ یزید بن شریح کی حدیث بطریق: «أبي حى المؤذن عن ثوبان» سند کے اعتبار سے سب سے عمدہ اور مشہور ہے، ۳- اس باب میں ابوہریرہ اور ابوامامہ رضی الله عنہما سے احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Anas bin Malik narrated: Allah's Messenger cursed three people: A man who leads people (in Salat) while they dislike him, a woman who spends a night while her husband with her, and a man who hears: 'Hayya Alal Falah (come to success)' then does not respond.

Amr bin Al-Harith Al-Mustaliq said: It used to be said that the people with the worst punishment [on the Day of Judgment] are two: A woman who disobeyed her husband, and a people's Imam whom they dislike.

Abu Umamah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: There are three whose Salat would not rise up beyond their ears: The runaway slave until he returns, a woman who spends a night while her husband is angry with her, and a people's Imam whom they dislike.

Anas bin Malik narrated: Allah's Messenger fell from a horse and got injured, so he led Salat sitting and we also offered Salat sitting. When he completed the Salat he said: The Imam is appointed to be followed; when he says the Takbir then say the Takbir, when he bows, then bow, and when he raises his head, then raise your heads. When he says: Sami' Allahu liman hamidah (Allah listens to those who praise him) then say: Rabbana wa lakal-hamd. (O our Lord! And all praise is Yours.) and when he prostrates, then prostrate, and when he performs Salat sitting, then pray sitting altogether.'
