Aishah narrated: When the Prophet opened the Salat he would say: (Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika wa tabarakasmuka, wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk) 'Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your praise, and blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your majesty, and none has the right to be worshipped but You.'

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَائِشَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَارِثَةُ قَدْ تُكُلِّمَ فِيهِ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو الرِّجَالِ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَدِينِيُّ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب نماز شروع کرتے تو «سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك وتبارك اسمك وتعالى جدك ولا إله غيرك» کہتے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کی حدیث صرف اسی سند سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- حارثہ کے حفظ کے تعلق سے کلام کیا گیا ہے۔

Ibn Abdullah bin Mughaffal narrated: While I was praying, I said: Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Beneficent. My father heard me and said: O my son this is a newly invented matter, beware of the newly-invented.' He (Ibn Abdullah) said: I have not seen any one of the Companions of Allah's Messenger who hated a newly invented matter in Islam more than him. And he said: 'Ihave performed Salat with the Prophet, and with Abu Bakr, and Umar, and with Uthman. I did not hear any one of them saying it. So do not say it. When you are performing Salat say: Al-Hamdu lilahi Rabbil-Alamin All praise is due to Allah the Lord of all that exists.'

Ibn Abbas narrated: The Prophet would open his Salat with (Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim).

Ubadah bin As-Samil narrated that : the Prophet said: There is no Salat for the one who does not recite Fatihatil-Kitab.

Wa'il bin Hujr narrated: I heard the Prophet recite: (Not (the way) of those who earned Your anger, nor those who went astray) and he said: 'Amin.' And he stretched it out with his voice.
