Translation

Arabic, english and urdu

Aisha narrated: A man sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah while I was with him, so he said: 'What an evil son of his tribe, or brother of his tribe.' Then he admitted him and spoke with him. When he left, I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! You said what you said about him. Then you talked politely with him?' He said: 'O 'Aishah! Indeed among the evilest of people are those whom the people avoid, or who the people leave, fearing his filthy speech.'

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ اسْتَأْذَنَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا عِنْدَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بِئْسَ ابْنُ الْعَشِيرَةِ أَوْ أَخُو الْعَشِيرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ أَذِنَ لَهُ فَأَلَانَ لَهُ الْقَوْلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتَ لَهُ مَا قُلْتَ ثُمَّ أَلَنْتَ لَهُ الْقَوْلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عَائِشَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّاسِ مَنْ تَرَكَهُ النَّاسُ أَوْ وَدَعَهُ النَّاسُ اتِّقَاءَ فُحْشِهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ ایک آدمی نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آنے کی اجازت مانگی، اس وقت میں آپ کے پاس تھی، آپ نے فرمایا: ”یہ قوم کا برا بیٹا ہے، یا قوم کا بھائی برا ہے“، پھر آپ نے اس کو اندر آنے کی اجازت دے دی اور اس سے نرم گفتگو کی، جب وہ نکل گیا تو میں نے آپ سے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ نے تو اس کو برا کہا تھا، پھر آپ نے اس سے نرم گفتگو کی ۱؎، آپ نے فرمایا: ”عائشہ! لوگوں میں سب سے برا وہ ہے جس کی بد زبانی سے بچنے کے لیے لوگ اسے چھوڑ دیں“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever has a mustard seed's weight of pride (arrogance) in his heart, shall not be admitted into Paradise. And whoever has a mustard seed's weight of faith in his heart, shall not be admitted into the Fire.

Abdullah narrated: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever has a speck of pride (arrogance) in his heart, shall not be admitted into Paradise. And whoever has a speck of faith in his heart, shall not be admitted in to the Fire.' He said: So a man said to him: 'I like for my clothes to be nice, and my sandals to be nice?' So he said: 'Indeed Allah loves beauty. But pride is refusing the truth and belittling the people.'

Iylas bin Salamah bin Al-Akwa' narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah said: A man shall remain exalting himself until he is written among the tyrants, so that he suffers from their afflictions.

Jubair bin Mut'im narrated from his father who said: They (meaning the people in general) told me that I was proud, while I rode a donkey, wore a cloak, and I milked the sheep. And the Messenger of Allah said to me: Whoever does these, then there is no pride (arrogance) in him.'

Abu Ad-Dardh narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Nothing is heavier on the believer's Scale on the Day of Judgment than good character. For indeed Allah, Most High, is angered by the shameless obscene person.
