Muhammad bin Sirin narrated from Abu Hurairah - and I think he (narrated it from the Prophet) who said: Love your beloved moderately, perhaps he becomes hated to you someday. And hate whom you hate moderately, perhaps he becomes your beloved someday.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْكَلْبِيُّ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أُرَاهُ رَفَعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَحْبِبْ حَبِيبَكَ هَوْنًا مَا عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ بَغِيضَكَ يَوْمًا مَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبْغِضْ بَغِيضَكَ هَوْنًا مَا عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ حَبِيبَكَ يَوْمًا مَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيث عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بِإِسْنَادٍ غَيْرِ هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏رَوَاهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ حَدِيثٌ ضَعِيفٌ أَيْضًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏بِإِسْنَادٍ لَهُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالصَّحِيحُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ مَوْقُوفٌ قَوْلُهُ.
ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اپنے دوست سے اعتدال اور توسط کے ساتھ دوستی رکھو شاید وہ کسی دن تمہارا دشمن ہو جائے اور اپنے دشمن سے اعتدال اور توسط کے ساتھ دشمنی کرو شاید وہ کسی دن تمہارا دوست بن جائے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف اسی سند سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- یہ حدیث ایوب کے واسطہ سے دوسری سند سے بھی آئی ہے، حسن بن ابی جعفر نے اپنی سند سے اس کی روایت کی ہے، جو علی کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تک پہنچتی ہے، یہ روایت بھی ضعیف ہے، اس روایت کے سلسلے میں صحیح بات یہ ہے کہ یہ علی سے موقوفا مروی ہے اور یہ ان کا اپنا قول ہے۔

Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever has a mustard seed's weight of pride (arrogance) in his heart, shall not be admitted into Paradise. And whoever has a mustard seed's weight of faith in his heart, shall not be admitted into the Fire.

And whoever has a speck of faith in his heart, shall not be admitted in to the Fire.' He said: So a man said to him: 'I like for my clothes to be nice, and my sandals to be nice?' So he said: 'Indeed Allah loves beauty. But pride is refusing the truth and belittling the people.'
