Translation

Abu Ad-Dardh narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Nothing is heavier on the believer's Scale on the Day of Judgment than good character. For indeed Allah, Most High, is angered by the shameless obscene person.

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مَمْلَكٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا شَيْءٌ أَثْقَلُ فِي مِيزَانِ الْمُؤْمِنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ خُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيُبْغِضُ الْفَاحِشَ الْبَذِيءَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

ابو الدرداء رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”قیامت کے دن مومن کے میزان میں اخلاق حسنہ سے بھاری کوئی چیز نہیں ہو گی اور اللہ تعالیٰ بےحیاء، بدزبان سے نفرت کرتا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عائشہ، ابوہریرہ، انس اور اسامہ بن شریک رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Abu Ad-Dardh narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Nothing is placed on the Scale that is heavier than good character. Indeed the person with good character will have attained the rank of the person of fasting and prayer.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah was asked about that for which people are admitted into Paradise the most, so he said: Taqwa of Allah, and good character. And he was asked about that for which people are admitted into the Fire the most, and he said: The mouth and the private parts.

Abu Wahb narrated that : 'Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak explained good character, and then he said: It is a smiling face, doing one's best in good, and refraining from harm.

Abu Al-Ahwas narrated from his father who said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! I stayed with a man who did not entertain me nor behave hospitably with me. Then he came to stay with me, shall I reciprocate the same to him?' He (ﷺ said: 'No, entertain him. He said: 'He (ﷺ saw me wearing tattered clothes and said:'(Do you have any wealth?' I said: 'Allah has given me various kinds of wealth through camels and goats.' He said: 'Then let it be seen on you.'

Hudhaifah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Do not let yourselves be 'yes-men', saying: 'If the people are good then we will be good, and if they are wrong then we will be wrong.'Rather, make up your own minds, if the people are good then you are good, and if they are evil, then do not behave unjustly.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever visits the sick, or visits his brother in Allah (faith), a caller calls out: 'May you have goodness and livelihood be good, and may you dwell in an adobe in Paradise.'
