Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever avoids lying while he is doing so falsely, a house will be built for him on the skirts of Paradise. Whoever avoids arguing while he is in the right, a house will be built for him in its midst. And whoever has good character, a house will be built for him in its heights.
حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكَرِّمٍ الْعَمِّيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ وَرْدَانَ اللَّيْثِيُّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ تَرَكَ الْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ بَاطِلٌ بُنِيَ لَهُ فِي رَبَضِ الْجَنَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ تَرَكَ الْمِرَاءَ وَهُوَ مُحِقٌّ بُنِيَ لَهُ فِي وَسَطِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ حَسَّنَ خُلُقَهُ بُنِيَ لَهُ فِي أَعْلَاهَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ.
انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو شخص ( جھگڑے کے وقت ) جھوٹ بولنا چھوڑ دے حالانکہ وہ ناحق پر ہے، اس کے لیے اطراف جنت میں ایک مکان بنایا جائے گا، جو شخص حق پر ہوتے ہوئے جھگڑا چھوڑ دے اس کے لیے جنت کے بیچ میں ایک مکان بنایا جائے گا اور جو شخص اپنے اخلاق اچھے بنائے اس کے لیے اعلیٰ جنت میں ایک مکان بنایا جائے گا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ہم اسے صرف سلمہ بن وردان کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں جسے وہ انس بن مالک سے روایت کرتے ہیں۔

Indeed among the evilest of people are those whom the people avoid, or who the people leave, fearing his filthy speech.'

So he said: 'Indeed Allah loves beauty. But pride is refusing the truth and belittling the people.'
