It was narrated that Mustawarid bin Shaddad said: I saw the Messenger of Allah performing ablution, and he ran his little finger between his toes. (Sahih) Another chain with similar wording.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى الْحِمْصِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْمَعَافِرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فَخَلَّلَ أَصَابِعَ رِجْلَيْهِ بِخِنْصِرِهِ .

مستورد بن شداد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وضو کیا تو اپنی سب سے چھوٹی انگلی سے اپنے پیروں کی انگلیوں کا خلال کیا ۱؎۔
