It was narrated that Abu Musa said: The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: 'Whoever plays backgammon has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.'

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ نَافِعٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالنَّرْدِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ .

ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے «نرد» ( چوسر ) کھیلا، اس نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی نافرمانی کی ۔
