It was narrated that 'Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah was wearing two Qitri garments which, if he sat and sweated, would become heavy (and uncomfortable). A Jewish man got some fabric from Ash-sham so I said: 'Why don't you send word to him to buy two garments from him, and pay him when things get easier?' So he sent word to him, but he said: 'I know what Muhammad wants; he wants to go away with my money and take them (the two garments).' The Messenger of Allah said; 'He is lying; he knows that I am one of the ones who fear Allah the most, and are most honest in fulfilling trusts.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بُرْدَيْنِ قِطْرِيَّيْنِ،‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ إِذَا جَلَسَ فَعَرِقَ فِيهِمَا ثَقُلَا عَلَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَدِمَ لِفُلَانٍ الْيَهُودِيِّ بَزٌّ مِنْ الشَّأْمِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ لَوْ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْهِ فَاشْتَرَيْتَ مِنْهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ إِلَى الْمَيْسَرَةِ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ مَا يُرِيدُ مُحَمَّدٌ،‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ بِمَالِي أَوْ يَذْهَبَ بِهِمَا،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَذَبَ قَدْ عَلِمَ أَنِّي مِنْ أَتْقَاهُمْ لِلَّهِ وَآدَاهُمْ لِلْأَمَانَةِ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس دو قطری چادریں تھیں، جب آپ بیٹھتے اور ان میں پسینہ آتا تو وہ بھاری ہو جاتیں، ایک یہودی کا شام سے کپڑا آیا تو میں نے عرض کیا: اگر آپ اس کے پاس کسی کو بھیج کر تاوقت سہولت ( قیمت ادا کرنے کے وعدہ پر ) دو کپڑے خرید لیتے تو بہتر ہوتا، چنانچہ آپ نے اس کے پاس ایک شخص کو بھیجا، اس ( یہودی ) نے کہا: مجھے معلوم ہے محمد کیا چاہتے ہیں، وہ تو میرا مال ہضم کرنا چاہتے ہیں، یا یہ دونوں چادروں کو ہضم کرنا چاہتے ہیں، اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اس نے جھوٹ کہا، اسے معلوم ہے کہ میں سب سے زیادہ اللہ سے ڈرنے والا ہوں اور سب سے زیادہ امانت کا ادا کرنے والا ہوں“ ۱؎۔

It was narrated from 'Amr bin shu'aib, from his father, from his grandfather, that: the Messenger of Allah prohibited lending on the condition of a sale, or to have two conditions in one transaction, or to profit from what you do not posses.

Amr bin shu'aib said: My father told me, mar rating from his father, from his father (and he mentioned 'Abdullah bin 'Amr) that he said: The Messenger of Allah said: It is not permissible to lend on the condition of a sale, or to stipulate two conditions in one transaction, or to make a profit on that which you do not possess.

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said: The Messenger of Allah forbade lending on the condition of a sale, selling what you do not have, and profiting on what you do not possess.
