Zirr bin Hubaish narrated: I came to a man called Safwan bin 'Assal and sat at his door. He came out and said: 'What do you want?' I said: 'I am seeking knowledge.' He said: 'The angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge out of pleasure at what he is seeking.' He said: 'What do you want to know about?' I said: 'About the Khuffs.' He said: 'When we were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on a journey, he told us not to take them off for three days except in the case of Janabah, but not in the case of defecation, urinating or sleep.'

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْتُ رَجُلًا يُدْعَى صَفْوَانَ بْنَ عَسَّالٍ فَقَعَدْتُ عَلَى بَابِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَخَرَجَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا شَأْنُكَ ؟ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَطْلُبُ الْعِلْمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَضَعُ أَجْنِحَتَهَا لِطَالِبِ الْعِلْمِ رِضًا بِمَا يَطْلُبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَسْأَلُ ؟ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ عَنِ الْخُفَّيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا إِذَا كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ لَا نَنْزِعَهُ ثَلَاثًا إِلَّا مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ وَلَكِنْ مِنْ غَائِطٍ وَبَوْلٍ وَنَوْمٍ .

زر بن حبیش بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں ایک آدمی کے پاس آیا جسے صفوان بن عسال رضی اللہ عنہ کہا جاتا تھا، میں ان کے دروازہ پر بیٹھ گیا، تو وہ نکلے، تو انہوں نے پوچھا کیا بات ہے؟ میں نے کہا: علم حاصل کرنے آیا ہوں، انہوں نے کہا: طالب علم کے لیے فرشتے اس چیز سے خوش ہو کر جسے وہ حاصل کر رہا ہو اپنے بازو بچھا دیتے ہیں، پھر پوچھا: کس چیز کے متعلق پوچھنا چاہتے ہو؟ میں نے کہا: دونوں موزوں کے متعلق کہا: جب ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ کسی سفر میں ہوتے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمیں حکم دیتے کہ ہم انہیں تین دن تک نہ اتاریں، الاّ یہ کہ جنابت لاحق ہو جائے، لیکن پاخانہ، پیشاب اور نیند ( تو ان کی وجہ سے نہ اتاریں ) ۔

Sa'eed - meaning Ibn Al-Musayyab - and 'Abbad bin Tamim narrated that his uncle - 'Abdullah bin Zaid - said: A man who felt something during Salah complained to the Prophet (ﷺ). He said: 'Do not stop praying unless you notice a smell or hear a sound.'

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When any one of you wakes from sleep, let him not put his hand into the vessel until he has washed it three times, because he does not know where his hand spent the night.

Urwah bin Az-Zubair said: I entered upon Mawan bin Al-Hakam and we mentioned the things for which Wudu' is done. Marwan said: 'Wudu' should be done after touching the penis.' 'Urwah said: 'I did not know that.' Marwan said: 'Busrah bint Safwan told me that she heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: And if any one of you touches his penis, let him do Wudu'.

Urwah bin Az-Zubair said: When he was the governor of Al-Madinah, Marwan mentioned that a man should perform Wudu' after touching his penis, if he touches it iwth his hand. I did not like that and I said: 'The one who touches it does not have to perform Wudu'.' Marwan said: 'Busrah bint Safwan told me that she heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) mention the things for which Wudu' should be performed, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Wudu' should be performed after touching the penis.' 'Urwah said: 'I continued to argue with Marwan until he called one of his guards and sent him to Busrah to ask her about what Marwan had narrated, and Busrah sent word saying something like that which Marwan had narrated to me from her.
