Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: Boys used to be brought to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he would invoke blessings on them. Yusuf added: and soften some dates and rub their palates with them . He did not mention blessings .
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ،‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُؤْتَى بِالصِّبْيَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَدْعُو لَهُمْ بِالْبَرَكَةِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏زَادَ يُوسُفُ:‏‏‏‏ وَيُحَنِّكُهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ بِالْبَرَكَةِ.
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس بچے لائے جاتے تھے تو آپ ان کے لیے برکت کی دعا فرماتے تھے، ( یوسف کی روایت میں اتنا اضافہ ہے کہ ) آپ ان کی تحنیک فرماتے یعنی کھجور چبا کر ان کے منہ میں دیتے تھے، البتہ انہوں نے برکت کی دعا فرمانے کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے ۱؎۔

Ibn Abbas reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: If anyone asks you refuge for Allah’s sake give him refuge; and if anyone asks you (for something) for Allah’s sake, give him. Sahl and Sulaiman said: if anyone calls you, respond to him. The Agreed version goes; if you do not afford to compensate him, pray Allah for him until you know that you have compensated him.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: Abu Zumayl said: I asked Ibn Abbas, saying: What is that I find in my breast? He asked: What is it? I replied: I swear by Allah, I cannot speak about it. He then said: No one could escape that, until Allah, the exalted, revealed: If thou went in doubt as to what we have revealed unto thee, and ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee.
