Narrated Tikhfat al-Ghifari: Ya'ish ibn Tikhfat al-Ghifari said: My father was one of the people in the Suffah. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Come with us to the house of Aishah. So we went and he said: Give us food, Aishah. She brought hashishah and we ate. He then said: Give us food, Aishah. She then brought haysah as small in quantity as a pigeon and we ate. He then said: Give us something to drink, Aishah. So she brought a bowl of milk, and we drank. Again he said: Give us something to drink, Aishah. She then brought a small cup and we drank. He then said: If you wish, you may spend the night (here), or if you wish, you may go to the mosque. He said: While I was lying on my stomach because of pain in the lung, a man began to shake me with his foot and then said: This is a method of lying which Allah hates. I looked and saw that he was the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَعِيشَ بْنِ طَخْفَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ أَبِي مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الصُّفَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ انْطَلِقُوا بِنَا إِلَى بَيْتِ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا،‏‏‏‏ فَانْطَلَقْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عَائِشَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَطْعِمِينَا فَجَاءَتْ بِحَشِيشَةٍ فَأَكَلْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عَائِشَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَطْعِمِينَا،‏‏‏‏ فَجَاءَتْ بِحَيْسَةٍ مِثْلِ الْقَطَاةِ فَأَكَلْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عَائِشَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اسْقِينَا،‏‏‏‏ فَجَاءَتْ بِعُسٍّ مِنْ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عَائِشَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اسْقِينَا،‏‏‏‏ فَجَاءَتْ بِقَدَحٍ صَغِيرٍ فَشَرِبْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ شِئْتُمْ بِتُّمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ شِئْتُمُ انْطَلَقْتُمْ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ،‏‏‏‏ قال:‏‏‏‏ فَبَيْنَمَا أَنَا مُضْطَجِعٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مِنَ السَّحَرِ عَلَى بَطْنِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِذَا رَجُلٌ يُحَرِّكُنِي بِرِجْلِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ هَذِهِ ضِجْعَةٌ يُبْغِضُهَا اللَّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

یعیش بن طخفہ بن قیس غفاری کہتے ہیں کہ میرے والد اصحاب صفہ میں سے تھے تو ( ایک بار ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ہمارے ساتھ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے گھر چلو تو ہم گئے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: عائشہ! ہمیں کھانا کھلاؤ وہ دلیا لے کر آئیں تو ہم نے کھایا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: عائشہ! ہمیں کھانا کھلاؤ تو وہ تھوڑا سا حیس ۱؎ لے کر آئیں، قطاۃ پرند کے برابر، تو ( اسے بھی ) ہم نے کھایا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: عائشہ! ہم کو پلاؤ تو وہ دودھ کا ایک بڑا پیالہ لے کر آئیں، تو ہم نے پیا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( ہم لوگوں سے ) فرمایا: تم لوگ چاہو ( ادھر ہی ) سو جاؤ، اور چاہو تو مسجد چلے جاؤ وہ کہتے ہیں: تو میں ( مسجد میں ) صبح کے قریب اوندھا ( پیٹ کے بل ) لیٹا ہوا تھا کہ یکایک کوئی مجھے اپنے پیر سے ہلا کر جگانے لگا، اس نے کہا: اس طرح لیٹنے کو اللہ ناپسند کرتا ہے، میں نے ( آنکھ کھول کر ) دیکھا تو وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تھے۔

Narrated Ali ibn Shayban: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If anyone spends the night on the roof of a house with no stone palisade, Allah's responsibility to guard him no longer applies.

Narrated Muadh ibn Jabal: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If a Muslim sleeps while remembering Allah, in the state of purification, is alarmed while asleep at night, and asks Allah for good in this world and in the Hereafter. He surely gives it to him. Thabit al-Bunani said: Abu Zabyah came to visit us and he transmitted this tradition to us from Muadh ibn Jabal from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Thabit said: So and so said: I tried my best to utter these (prayers) when I got up, but I could not do.

Ibn Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم got up at night, fulfilled his need and washed his face and hand and then slept. Abu Dawud said: that is to say, he urinated

Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Muminin: Some relative of Umm Salamah said: The bed of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was set as a man is laid in his grave; the mosque was towards his head.

Narrated Hafsah, Ummul Muminin: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم wanted to go to sleep, he put his right hand under his cheek and would then say three times: O Allah, guard me from Thy punishment on the day when Thou raisest up Thy servants.

Al-Bara bin Azib said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to me: When you go to your bed, perform ablution like the ablution for prayer, and then lie on your right side and say: O Allah I have handed over my face to thee, entrusted my affairs to thee, and committed my back to thee out of desire for and fear to thee. There is no refuge and no place of safety from thee except by having recource to thee. I believe in Thy Book which Thou hast sent down and in Thy prophet whom thou hast sent down. He said: If you die (that night), you would die in the true religion, and utter these words in the last of that you utter (other prayers). Al-Bara said: I said: I memorise them, and then I repeated, saying “and in Thy Messenger whom Thou hast sent”. He said: No, say: “and in Thy Prophet whom Thou hast sent.
