Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: Nafi said: Ibn Umar heard a pipe, put his fingers in his ears and went away from the road. He said to me: Are you hearing anything? I said: No. He said: He then took his fingers out of his ears and said: I was with the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he heard like this and he did like this. Abu Ali al-Lu'lu said: I heard Abu Dawud say: This is a rejected tradition.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْغُدَانِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ مِزْمَارًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَوَضَعَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ عَلَى أُذُنَيْهِ وَنَأَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ لِي:‏‏‏‏ يَا نَافِعُ هَلْ تَسْمَعُ شَيْئًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ لَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَرَفَعَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ مِنْ أُذُنَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَمِعَ مِثْلَ هَذَا فَصَنَعَ مِثْلَ هَذَا ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْلُؤْلُئِيُّ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْت أَبَا دَاوُد، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ مُنْكَرٌ.

نافع کہتے ہیں کہ ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے ایک باجے کی آواز سنی تو اپنی دونوں انگلیاں کانوں میں ڈال لیں اور راستے سے دور ہو گئے اور مجھ سے کہا: اے نافع! کیا تمہیں کچھ سنائی دے رہا ہے میں نے کہا: نہیں، تو آپ نے اپنی انگلیاں کانوں سے نکالیں، اور فرمایا: میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھا، اس جیسی آواز سنی تو آپ نے بھی اسی طرح کیا۔ ابوعلی لؤلؤی کہتے ہیں: میں نے ابوداؤد کو کہتے سنا: یہ حدیث منکر ہے۔

Salam ibn Miskin, quoting an old man who witnessed Abu Wail in a wedding feast, said: They began to play, amuse and sing. He united the support of his hand round his knees that were drawn up, and said: I heard Abdullah (ibn Masud) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: Singing produces hypocrisy in the heart.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: A hermaphrodite (mukhannath) who had dyed his hands and feet with henna was brought to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He asked: What is the matter with this man? He was told: Messenger of Allah! he affects women's get-up. So he ordered regarding him and he was banished to an-Naqi'. The people said: Messenger of Allah! should we not kill him? He said: I have been prohibited from killing people who pray. Abu Usamah said: Naqi' is a region near Madina and not a Baqi'.

Umm Salamah said that the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came upon her when there was with her a hermaohrodite (mukhannath) who said to her brother Abdullah (b. Abi Umayyah): if Allah conquers al-Ta’if for you tomorrow, I shall lead you to a woman who has four folds of fats in front and eight behind. Thereupon the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Put them out of your houses. Abu Dawud said: The woman had four folds of fat on her belly.

Ibn Abbas said: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم cursed the hermaphrodites (mukhannathan) among men and women who imitated men, saying: Put them out of your houses, and put so and so out, that is to say, the hermaphrodites.
