Umm Salamah said that the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came upon her when there was with her a hermaohrodite (mukhannath) who said to her brother Abdullah (b. Abi Umayyah): if Allah conquers al-Ta’if for you tomorrow, I shall lead you to a woman who has four folds of fats in front and eight behind. Thereupon the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Put them out of your houses. Abu Dawud said: The woman had four folds of fat on her belly.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا مُخَنَّثٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَخِيهَا:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ يَفْتَحْ اللَّهُ الطَّائِفَ غَدًا دَلَلْتُكَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ تُقْبِلُ بِأَرْبَعٍ وَتُدْبِرُ بِثَمَانٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ الْمَرْأَةُ كَانَ لَهَا أَرْبَعُ عُكَنٍ فِي بَطْنِهَا.

ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کے ہاں تشریف لائے ان کے پاس ایک ہجڑا بیٹھا ہوا تھا اور وہ ان کے بھائی عبداللہ سے کہہ رہا تھا: اگر کل اللہ طائف کو فتح کرا دے تو میں تمہیں ایک عورت بتاؤں گا، کہ جب وہ سامنے سے آتی ہے تو چار سلوٹیں لے کر آتی ہے، اور جب پیٹھ پھیر کر جاتی ہے تو آٹھ سلوٹیں لے کر جاتی ہے، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: انہیں اپنے گھروں سے نکال دو ۱؎ ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: «تقبل بأربع» کا مطلب ہے عورت کے پیٹ میں چار سلوٹیں ہوتی ہیں یعنی پیٹ میں چربی چھا جانے کی وجہ سے خوب موٹی اور تیار ہے۔

Ibn Abbas said: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم cursed the hermaphrodites (mukhannathan) among men and women who imitated men, saying: Put them out of your houses, and put so and so out, that is to say, the hermaphrodites.

Aishah said: I used to play with dolls. Sometimes the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم entered upon me when the girls were with me. When he came in, they went out, and when he went out, they came in.

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم arrived after the expedition to Tabuk or Khaybar (the narrator is doubtful), the draught raised an end of a curtain which was hung in front of her store-room, revealing some dolls which belonged to her. He asked: What is this? She replied: My dolls. Among them he saw a horse with wings made of rags, and asked: What is this I see among them? She replied: A horse. He asked: What is this that it has on it? She replied: Two wings. He asked: A horse with two wings? She replied: Have you not heard that Solomon had horses with wings? She said: Thereupon the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم laughed so heartily that I could see his molar teeth.

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم married me when I was seven or six. When we came to Madina, some women came. according to Bishr's version: Umm Ruman came to me when I was swinging. They took me, made me prepared and decorated me. I was then brought to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he took up cohabitation with me when I was nine. She halted me at the door, and I burst into laughter. Abu Dawud said: That is to say: I menstruated, and I was brought in a house, and there were some women of the Ansari in it. They said: With good luck and blessing. The tradition of one of them has been included in the other.

Narrated Abu Usamah: The tradition mentioned above (No. 4915) has also been transmitted by Abu Usamah in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. This version has: With good fortune. She (Umm Ruman) entrusted me to them. They washed my head and redressed me. No one came to me suddenly except the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم in the forenoon. So they entrusted me to him.
