Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: A man cursed the wind. The narrator Muslim's version has: The wind snatched away a man's cloak during the time of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and he cursed it. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Do not curse it, for it is under command, and if anyone curses a thing undeservedly, the curse returns upon him.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ. ح حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ الطَّائِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعَطَّارُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ زَيْدٌ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَعَنَ الرِّيحَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ مُسْلِمٌ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ رَجُلًا نَازَعَتْهُ الرِّيحُ رِدَاءَهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَعَنَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تَلْعَنْهَا فَإِنَّهَا مَأْمُورَةٌ وَإِنَّهُ مَنْ لَعَنَ شَيْئًا لَيْسَ لَهُ بِأَهْلٍ رَجَعَتِ اللَّعْنَةُ عَلَيْهِ .
عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک شخص نے ہوا پر لعنت کی ( مسلم کی روایت میں اس طرح ہے ) نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں ہوا نے ایک شخص کی چادر اڑا دی، تو اس نے اس پر لعنت کی، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس پر لعنت نہ کرو، اس لیے کہ وہ تابعدار ہے، اور اس لیے کہ جو کوئی ایسی چیز کی لعنت کرے جس کا وہ اہل نہ ہو تو وہ لعنت اسی کی طرف لوٹ آتی ہے ۔

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: Something of her was stolen, and she began to curse him (i. e. the thief). The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to her: Do not lessen his sin.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: It is not allowable for a believer to keep from a believer for more than three days. If three days pass, he should meet him and give him a salutation, and if he replies to it they will both have shared in the reward; but if he does not reply he will bear his sin (according to Ahmad's version) and the one who gives the salutation will have come forth from the sin of keeping apart.
