Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: None of my Companions must tell me anything about anyone, for I like to come out to you with no ill-feelings.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَنَسَبَهُ لَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ الْوَلِيدُ ابْنُ أَبِي هِشَامٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ زَائِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يُبَلِّغُنِي أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي عَنْ أَحَدٍ شَيْئًا فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنَا سَلِيمُ الصَّدْرِ .

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میرے صحابہ میں سے کوئی کسی کے بارے میں کوئی شکایت مجھ تک نہ پہنچائے، اس لیے کہ میں چاہتا ہوں کہ میں ( گھر سے ) نکل کر تمہاری طرف آؤں، تو میرا سینہ صاف ہو ( یعنی کسی کی طرف سے میرے دل کوئی میں کدورت نہ ہو ) ۔

Narrated Amr ibn al-Faghwa' al-Khuzai: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم called me. He intended to send me with some goods to Abu Sufyan to distribute among the Quraysh at Makkah after the conquest. He said: Search for a companion. Then Amr ibn Umayyah ad-Damri came to me and said: I have been told that you are intending to make a journey and are seeking a companion. I said: Yes. He said: I am your companion. I then went to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and said: I have found a companion. He asked: Who is he? I replied: Amr ibn Umayyah ad-Damri. He said: When you come down to the territory of his people, be careful of him, for a maxim says: If one is your real brother, do not feel safe with him. So we proceeded, and when I reached al-Abwa', he said to me: I have some work with my people at Waddan, so stay here till I come back. I said: Do not lose your way. When he turned his back, I recalled the words of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. So I rode my camel and galloped without stopping. When I reached al-Asafir, he was pursuing me with a group of men. So I galloped and forged ahead of him. When he saw me that I had outstripped him, they returned and he came to me. He said to me: I had some work with my people. I said: Yes. We then went on until we reached Makkah, and I gave the goods to Abu Sufyan.

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: A believer is not stung twice from the same hole.
