The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu Musa from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم through a different chain of narrators up to “and its taste bitter”. Ibn Muadh added: Anas said: We used talk to one another thet a good companion is like. . . He then transmitted the rest of the tradition.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ،‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى. ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا الْكَلَامِ الْأَوَّلِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَطَعْمُهَا مُرٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَزَادَ ابْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَنَسٌ:‏‏‏‏ وَكُنَّا نَتَحَدَّثُ أَنَّ مَثَلَ جَلِيسِ الصَّالِحِ وَسَاقَ بَقِيَّةَ الْحَدِيثِ.

اس سند سے بھی ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ سے شروع سے «طعمها مر» ( اس کا مزا کڑوا ہے ) تک اسی طرح مرفوعاً مروی ہے، اور ابن معاذ نے یہ اضافہ کیا ہے کہ انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: اور ہم آپس میں کہتے تھے کہ اچھے ہم نشین کی مثال، پھر راوی نے بقیہ حدیث بیان کی۔

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: The spirits are in marshalled hosts; those who know one another will be friendly, and those who do not, will keep apart.

Narrated as-Saib: I came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. The people began to praise me and make a mention of me. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: I know you, that is, he knew him. I said: My father and mother be sacrificed for you! you were my partner and how good a partner ; you neither disputed nor quarrelled.
