The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abdullah bin Zam’ah through a different chain. He said: When the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم heard Umar’s voice, Ibn Zam’ah said: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came out until he took out his head of his apartment. He then said: No, no, no; the son of Abu Quhafah should lead the people in prayer. He said it angrily.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَمْعَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ بِهَذَا الْخَبَرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَوْتَ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ ابْنُ زَمْعَةَ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أَطْلَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ حُجْرَتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا لَا لَا لِيُصَلِّ لِلنَّاسِ ابْنُ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ مُغْضَبًا .

عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ بن عتبہ سے روایت ہے کہ عبداللہ بن زمعہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں یہی بات بتائی اور کہا: جب نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کی آواز سنی تو آپ نکلے یہاں تک کہ حجرے سے اپنا سر نکالا، پھر فرمایا: نہیں، نہیں، نہیں، ابن ابی قحافہ ( یعنی ابوبکر ) کو چاہیئے کہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یہ غصے میں فرما رہے تھے۔

Narrated Abu Bakrah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to al-Hasan ibn Ali. This son of mine is a Sayyid (chief), and I hope Allah may reconcile two parties of my community by means of him. Hammad's version has: And perhaps Allah may reconcile two large parties of Muslims by means of him.

Narrated Hudhayfah: There is no one who will be overtaken by trial regarding whom I do not fear except Muhammad ibn Maslamah, for I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: Trial will not harm you.

Thalabah bin Dubaiah said: We entered upon Hudhaifah. He said: I know a man whom the trails will not harm. We came out and found that a tent was pitched. We entered and found in it Muhammad bin Maslamah. We asked him about it. He said: I do not intent that any place of your towns should occupy me until that which is prevailing is removed.

Qais bin Abbad said: I said to ‘All (Allah be pleased with him): Tell me about this march of yours. Is this an order that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم had given you, or is this your opinion that you have? He said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم did not give me any order; but this is an opinion that I have.

Abu Saeed reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: In the event of the dissension among Muslims an emerging sect will emerge ; one of the two parties that is nearer to the truth will kill it.
